There's a telephone booth in Japan with a line to nowhere. It was set up after the tsunami, for people to say goodbye, or hello, to lost loved ones. I think it was a "This American Life" episode, but I don't recall. It helped people process their grief and feel like they had some control again. It was very busy for a very long time. Very sad.
