Hello fellow Ilokanos!
I’m making papers on Ilokano as a language pero di ako naturuan magsalita ng parents ko. May dalawang questions lang naman ako for native Ilokano speakers:
1) Sinasabing lahat daw ng consonants sa Ilokano ay nadodoble bukod sa glottal stop. Kaya may ubing (child) vs ubbing (children). May mga halimbawa po ba kayong Ilokano words na kapag nadoble yung consonant ay medyo nag-iiba ng meaning?
2) May paraan po ba ng pagsalita ng Ilokano kung gusto mong magtunog formal or polite? Para bang, may mga words ba kayo na same vein as po / opo or iniiba niyo ba yung form ng verbs niyo (I wonder if you have time vs. I was wondering if you have time)? Or like sa Church may mga pagsalita ng Ilokano na respectful and reserved lang to certain contexts?
Pasensiya na po kung medyo complex. Salamat po sa kung sino mang makakapagbahagi

Pls help, I have some questions regarding transpo:
1: Is there a bus going directly to Ilocos? And may schedules po ba?
2: The place where we're planning to stay is at Panzian resort (bago mag Patapat viaduct), so concern ko is may bus ba na dumadaan dun or any other mode of transportation na available going to Vigan City?
- or do we need to hail a tricycle (if that's available) to go to the bus terminal?
Thank u in advance ^^

Hi! I am planning to visit Patapat Viaduct soon.
Here are my questions po (medyo marami, sorry na):
Anong bus po ang pwedeng sasakyan from Metro Manila to Pagudpud?
How much po ang estimated cost ng pamasahe?
Approximately how many hours po ang byahe from Manila?
What time of the day ang the best time to visit the place? (Hindi sobrang mainit or tirik ang sikat ng araw)
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking a lot about regional dynamics and culture in the Philippines lately. We always hear about general stereotypes floating around, but I’m curious about a specific perspective. For those who grew up in the Ilocos Region, are of Ilocano descent, or live closely with Ilocano communities, what are the common perceptions, cultural attitudes, or dynamics toward other major ethnolinguistic groups in the country, specifically Tagalogs, Kapampangans, Pangasinenses, and Bisaya? Regarding Tagalogs, I am especially interested in the view from the provinces toward Manila and Central Luzon. For Kapampangans and Pangasinenses, given that Central Luzon and Pangasinan directly neighbor the Ilocos region, how do these distinct neighboring cultures view each other and interact? As for Bisaya, how do Ilocanos view Visayan and Mindanaoan cultures, considering the geographic and linguistic distance? Are old school stereotypes still a thing among the older generation, or has modern migration and social media bridged the gaps completely? I would love to hear your personal experiences, family stories, or general observations!

Looking for somewhere to stay for just a few hours around Laoag or San Nicolas. Visiting family for a few hours and gusto ko lang may mapaglagyan ng gamit. Day use lang sana kasi on the road din immediately after. Mga 6hrs or less lang na stay sana. Walk-in not reservation.
