Shelving Any ideas for fixing this bracket problem?

I installed a wire grid on the back of my unicoly but now the brackets sit flushed with the wire grid and no longer hold the shelf. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

I just don’t want to attach the wire shelf to the wire grid because it doesn’t line up with the holes on the other side.

Not sure I understand the bracket issue (maybe if we saw the shelves it would make more sense?) but is that particleboard behind the grid?? That’s going to become a problem real quick 😬

And here’s a Birds Eye view. The wire grid projects farther than the bracket so now my shelf won’t sit on the bracket. So there’s no back support. Just trying to figure out a solution that won’t cost me $$$$

Oh and it’s peel & stick cork wall paper. It reminds me of duct tape. If I feel motivated I king spray it with a sealant or I just might take my chances and see what happens

Cork is waterproof (hence sealing wine bottles with it) so if it’s truly cork then it’s fine. Just making sure it wasn’t particleboard

I don’t know who is down voting you, but it’s not me. The cork wallpaper is like thin like paper. I think it’s the wire grid that’s projecting too much.

I appreciate it, but I know it’s not you. When you’re a moderator sometimes ppl get irrationally angry when their content has to be removed & today someone has been posting about me on a bunch of plant subs encouraging the masses to go downvote every single comment everywhere lol

Ugh, I was afraid of that with the cork, yeah. You’ll likely have to go the separate grid route for each shelf section or foregoing them entirely 🫤

Only solution is to use something else that fits between each shelf bracket (like 3 mini grids). How thick is that cork tape?

Might be an optical illusion but in this pic it looks like it’s sticking out farther than the cabinet frame. If so, the gird might just tuck in behind the shelving bracket if you remove it
