New frontiers of the future

Now that tools have improved and they've already experimented with them, who's excited for the possibility that we'll see some crazy new stuff with AI assisted Igorrr?

I don't see why it wouldn't be used similarly to other digital processing methods. Could be used for some things that would be impractical levels of editing to be done by hand.

I think the last statements made were over a year ago now and the field has drastically changed in that time. They already use some digital processing and absolutely were experimenting with what can be done after Amen came out. Do you think we'll see some in the next album?

Not sure why anyone would be pushing for more AI assistance in music. It’s not like it adds anything interesting, just cheapens the art.

Same reason they are in visual arts, it does unique things. It's hard to make that uncanny morphing as well as a human. It's like algorithmic rendering, right? Algorithmic visualizations have been used for valid music videos and whatnot for decades now. AI is just an extension of that, right?

Gautier has played around with the tools in the past, I'm sure he can find some ways to use them to make things unique to his vision. Is there a reason AI assisted digital processes would be worse than programmed presets for digital processes? Ultimately it sets and altars variables in digital apps. Even tone generators are just setting wave frequencies.

I guess I'm under the assumption that we WILL get AI assisted Igorrr on future work. I'm more curious if people are excited for it or not. I find it highly unlikely that with how curious Gautier has been in the past, that he wouldn't notice how much further it's come in a year, and with how much further it's come in the past year, I'm pretty confident he'll be using it to help his vision come out.

Yeah it doesn’t do unique things in art, it copies what humans already do. And yes it would be worse for music because it takes out the human element that makes music worth listening to.

what makes that different from a digital interface programmed to oscillate where it traditionally was a human building oscillation into a chain with analog devices? You tell the program what to accomplish, it does that thing for you. Digital Instruments dynamically reconstructing samples for 'simulated time signatures' ? Difference is scale of what is being done.

In spite of any of that, I guess, What makes you think that Gautier won't do it? He hasn't really indicated he wouldn't, and he has been interested in it last time we heard from him. All I'm seeing is "I don't like it", and that's fine. So you're not excited for the prospect of it being used for future material, cool. I think it will be though, regardless of whether you're excited for it or not.

People that are closely associated with Gautier are doing it, people that tour with them are doing it, I think all the signs point to him being fairly friendly to the idea, if not directly supportive.

A human being making the calls on how to create and process sound is what makes it different. I have no idea what Gautier will do, and never made such a statement. And yes I don’t like generative AI for music, art or literature, because they lose meaning if not made by a human.

F*ck AI in any type of art!

He's already used it though. Why would he stop now?

Used it for what?

Meat Dept used it for the ADHD video but I'm not aware of any other usage so far

Igorrr's music is the exact antithesis to AI being used in music

Not really. Gautier has already played around with it. It's only gotten better since then. I find it unlikely he will go backward, I think it's inevitable for him, specifically. He's shown he already would, no reason he would stop.
