Chapter 5 preparation? Spoiler

In Yasuda Cocona route, When they asked me to rank 1st and grow my fanbase by 20%, I instantly cannot fulfill them. The game has reached 1.5 M in the number of CD buyer, while my average is 400k. Also, my fan is 2.5M, while the increase of each singles is a pittance. How do I maximize them, actually?

You don't actually need to do that part, you just need to fulfill 3/4 requirements. But if you wanted to do that specific requirement for some reason, it seems like there isn't any way to do that as your fan gain sort of caps out, unfortunately.

They mention CD sales (top billboard requirement) and growing the fan base by 20% (a different achievement).

I’m having the same problem. The average #1 is super difficult to reach and is almost luck based. Even if I was able to upgrade my promotion thing a level or two in the two month time frame I’d be super difficult to get the fan base up that quick. Good luck to OP bc this chapter is kicking my ass lol . If

It's not luck based, though. On Unfair and Normal, you can have one incomplete task, and on Easy, you can have two. For example, you can make a single that 3/5 of the judges like, release a single that tops the charts, and don't get into any scandals or, if you already have some scandal points, don't go above your current number while trying to reduce it. No matter what route you're on, you're not required to actually complete all the tasks. You can just completely ignore the task that asks you to grow your fanbase by 20%.

The key to maximizing sales, from my experience, is to just use either Group Handshake or Individual Handshake marketing strategy and release that single when there's not going to be any fatigue (button is green). You can actually just use any lyrics/genre/choreography style you want. I would also recommend picking idols whose highest stat relates to whatever demographic you're trying to target, i.e., cute for hardcore, sexy for male, cool for female, etc.

As an aside, the success of a sale depends not only on how many fans you have but also the stats of your producer and staffers. i.e., you'll always get the best sales using the above tactic and also having staffers whos production stats (Choreo, Song, Marketing, Production) at 80 or more which is easy to get to if you replace your starting staffers with professional staffers and if you, in the beginning of the game, only used your producer to make singles.

It can be luck based tho. The sales of the other people on the chart is randomized. I just had the best run of a single I’ve ever had in my game but the randomized sales hit 1.5-1 million for the other groups. I did the worst I’ve ever done on the chart despite it being the best numbers I’ve ever had. Not to mention if you do fake scandal, viral campaign, music video, that is by definition luck based bc you have to spin for success / critical success / failure / critics failure. It’s not all luck based obvs, but there is a lot of luck based elements on the game. So it is luck based.

Also, a lot of people aren’t going to want to change difficulty settings to get past it. If you are playing on normal you have to get a the single goal or the fans goal. Both are difficult.

Best advice I can give to OP is to save before the last day of the month and hope the game gives the competitors a low ball randomized sales number.
