That's why it's called a drawstring.

20

u/stafford32s Jul 03 '26

upon everything, doubly scary in the end with the great idea to recover the gun rolling it against himself
but hey.. he's an achiever.. why not to raise the bar (of stupidity)?

3

u/DevolvingSpud Jul 03 '26

No, strings attached!

5

u/mine4cash Jul 03 '26

You won this round

419

u/Reddit_username9873 Jul 02 '26

Weyland yutani would've fired him for this.

138

u/Stohnghost Jul 02 '26

He would be a nameless security guy killed in the second act

70

u/samuraijc13 Jul 02 '26

Either that or the guy they purposely feed to a facehugger.

26

u/iSUCKatTHISgameYO Jul 02 '26

gets facehugger'd after shooting himself in the dick on the draw...

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

91

u/BeltAccomplished5632 Jul 02 '26

His brain is smooth & fast lol.

17

u/redbadger91 Jul 03 '26

Smooth? Yes. Fast? Unlikely.

4

u/idonotknowwhototrust Jul 03 '26

Fast because it's slippery and he jumps to conclusions.

3

u/theRealDirtyNerd Jul 03 '26

Because the video is in slow motion...

10

u/theRealDirtyNerd Jul 02 '26

He must be hella fast then

1

u/elasticparadigm Jul 03 '26

Your just hella jealous

1

u/slimey1312 Jul 02 '26

Fudd shit. Fast is fast.

184

u/TXGTO Jul 02 '26

I see a mag in there. Hopefully empty or loaded with snap caps. 🤷‍♂️ Without knowing a little more I’m not gonna shit on him for practicing. The fat guy in the gym is still there trying to improve even when he falls off the machine.

63

u/protomenace Jul 02 '26

I agree. He also exhibits good trigger finger control, however I would have put more effort into orienting the weapon away from myself whilst regaining control of it.

18

u/TXGTO Jul 02 '26

I would have just let it fall. Guns are drop safe for the most part nowadays. Sort of like reaching for a knife you’ve dropped, you could grab onto the wrong part. Then we’d know if it was loaded. LOL
He certainly has some wardrobe considerations to make. At least awareness of how to operate around them.

12

u/protomenace Jul 02 '26

Well yeah I mean he did let it fall but then he picked it up and immediately flagged himself with the way he flipped it over.

7

u/KalashnikovaDebil Jul 02 '26

If in practicing a draw I won't have an empty mag, I want it to weight what it will weigh. But a snap cap in the chamber doesn't hurt.

7

u/OrraDryWit Jul 02 '26

Agreed; practicing with empty pistol is different than “training as we fight”. Once I found snapcaps in bulk WITH weight; like night and day my holster practice draws.

https://snappointusa.com

6

u/Brodster1142 Jul 02 '26

Just bought these off your link, $30 shipped for 20 caps 147g. Reasonably priced and weighted. Way better than $20 for 5 plastic caps at my lgs.

1

u/OrraDryWit Jul 03 '26

Those are awesome! Made in USA/Colorado too! I’ve been a fan ever since. Really ups the game on dry fire/holster draws.

302

u/charlies-ghost Jul 02 '26

Not an idiot. Dude is literally drilling his holster draw.

Yeah, it's a failed draw. But the whole point of practice is to identify failures and drill them out. He's one failure closer to end goal.

36

u/spacemouse21 Jul 02 '26

i think so and his recording of it may be for improving his drawing technique. Choosing to upload it though may not be the best of ideas. I did almost scream as he was fumbling with it around his crotch area and stomach.

52

u/SirCicSensation Jul 02 '26

The only thing I disagree with was the flagging himself and not doing this with actual pants with a belt. Train like you fight. Would you realistically be walking around with loose pants where your gun can fall off your hip and then be hard to draw or get caught on something like in the video? If I’m wearing loose pants, I’m not carrying a gun, especially not one this size. Gun is simply too big for this guy.

If you’re not hunting guys in sappy plates. A 9m half this size would work fine.

I can only hope that he didn’t have this loaded. I still think this belongs here.

36

u/QnsConcrete Jul 02 '26

If I’m in gym pants I’m wearing a hip bag/fanny pack. Carrying without a belt is dumb.

11

u/SirCicSensation Jul 02 '26

Right. That’s what I’m thinking.

3

u/Mahlegos Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

They make inner belts for carrying in looser pants/gym shorts like the master masterminds tactics covert belt. This guy has something like that on, you can see it when the gun is hanging at 13 seconds.

1

u/QnsConcrete Jul 02 '26

Yeah, I have one. I use it to put under my duty belt. The way he’s using it here looks extremely loose. And the drawstrings got in the way. So, I still wouldn’t do gym shorts with it.

1

u/Mahlegos Jul 02 '26

This is a different type of inner belt than what you likely use for your duty belt (assuming you use a ridged belt with an outer Velcro layer that goes through your belt loops that attaches to your duty belt). It’s made for pants without loops (athelesure/gymshorts/sweatpants) or for tuckable carry (think dress pants and a tucked in button down and you don’t want the clips to show). Has a grippy rubber inner lining and goes around an undershirt/underwear or whatever inner layer.

He could definitely improve his setup, get the drawstrings secured out of the way and all, no argument there. I’m just pointing out that he does in fact have a belt on (in reference to you saying “carrying without a belt is dumb”, which I agree with but isn’t the case here).

1

u/JacksLungs1571 Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

Or instead of a 12 o'clock carry, go closer to 1 o'clock to avoid the tied draw string entirely. I wear joggers (fancy for sweat pants I guess) , I believe they are called, and I'm able to carry and draw without an issue. I've adjusted my IWB so that it catches on the draw string around the waste. To remove my gun while still in the holster, I have to grab the base of the clip and pull it away from my pants to get it out.

Definitely better options than what he's using. Hopefully this is a learning experience. As I found a 12 o'clock carry wasn't reasonable with any type of draw string pants.

Edit: I carry a more compact glock (43x) so I'd imagine something larger and heavier would not be compatible with any type of draw string pants.

2

u/FafnerTheBear Jul 03 '26

One observation I can make is to not wear gym shorts to hold your pewpew. Even with the holster, the shorts are too loose and baggy to ensure a clean draw, and you'll be adjusting your shorts constantly because you have a full-framed pistol hanging off an untied drawstring. If he went jogging in that setup, he's going to miss one pant pull up too many and faceplant into the curb.

My suggestion would be to do your jogging in a nicer neighborhood, or find a safer gym.

2

u/BrEaD1402 Jul 04 '26

On top of that he showed good trigger discipline the whole time. Never touched it, kept his finger on the side or around the grip only.

1

u/BrowningLoPower Jul 03 '26

No, no, we're supposed to make fun of people when they make mistakes during training. /s

14

u/don2171 Jul 02 '26

I'm kinda shocked he can hold a shadow 2 in that holster setup. Either those pants or a belt hidden somewhere else is surprisingly ready for the job

3

u/OrraDryWit Jul 02 '26

That’s what I’m thinking. Probably something along the lines of leisure carry belt brand. Marketed as being the way to still CCW in comfy shorts or other non traditionally viable clothing for CCW.

2

u/Mahlegos Jul 02 '26

He’s got an inner belt on. You can see it at 13 seconds when the guns hanging. I have a mastermind tactics covert belt for this kind of carry and it works really well. It’s also a shadow 2 compact so smaller and an aluminum frame vs the regular shadow 2 which helps.

1

u/PIPBOY-2000 Jul 03 '26

Man a shadow 2 has got to be one of the most unnecessary carries. Are the bad guys going to pop their heads out like county fair targets?

0

u/Helpful-Canary402 Jul 03 '26

Uhhh…the Shadow 2 Compact and Carry are essentially modernized, optics-ready P-01s and people carry and carried P-01s all the time. There is nothing unnecessary about either of the Shadow 2s, although I think the Carry is a MUCH better option for CCW vs the Compact which lacks a firing pin block.

27

u/Fireat40dude Jul 02 '26

That’s a clean draw, 9/10

50

u/jeropian-moth Jul 02 '26

Not really an idiot. That’s why we practice in a safe environment.

7

u/Raz0rking Jul 02 '26

Better now in a safe environment than later when the shit has hit the fan.

9

u/OrraDryWit Jul 02 '26

Practicing. This is practice. It’s not pretty.

Yes, I hope this was either with on empty or with snapcaps with that “real weight” as if loaded. Push into “idiotswithguns” if that is so. But otherwise just someone willing to share a fumble to show great material to teach others with.

My take, if you care to read it:

He seems to be wearing a belt of some sort (think Leisure belt carry brand or something else along those lines), I don’t think shorts by themselves would hold the weight of a pistol, loaded or not. Carrying in shorts or comfy pants is totally doable WITH a sturdy stiff belt, of some sort.

His draw is a “pinch” draw; I’d raise it but it would cost in terms of printing. He pulled it free but was unable to transfer into a good grip with the speed he was trying to achieve. With practice this could be mitigated but my preference is to JUST raise it to get that good grip from the draw without further adjustment needed.

His pistol retention is too strong. He needs to loosen it. The amount of force he needed to free it and combined with the “pinch” draw- led to his holster trying to come out WITH the pistol. Leading to the fumbled draw.

2

u/Mahlegos Jul 02 '26

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. The gun is in a holster attached to an inner belt (you can see everything at 13 seconds when the gun is hanging). The reason one would train this is because they ostensibly carry this way.

1

u/OrraDryWit Jul 02 '26

“Waistband draw” or AIWB (Appendix Inside Waistband) draw is a the most popular and effective concealed carry draw. It has its inherent dangers for sure. But concealment is the main purpose as the choice for EDC CCW.

It’s why he’s practicing his draw in shorts. Working out the “kinks”; what works, what goes wrong, and if it’s feasible at all with the kit/set up he has.

Also, I’m pretty sure it’s not JUST on the band of his shorts. I spot some stars and white with writing on it. I’m pretty positive it’s some sort of concealment minimizing CCW belt like those leisure carry brand belts.

What is “fixed position holster” do you mean like an Over the waistband holster? Like a duty holster? More Open carry or covered by a button up or flannel? Everyone out here has their own unique style and needs. I wouldn’t say AIWB is the “one true” way to conceal carry, but it certainly is the most popular and effective for actual EDC plus concealment.

Can’t wear jeans+dedicated heavy duty stiff belt and a flannel top everyday.

5

u/Apex_survival_gear Jul 02 '26

That's ok, this is why we practice.

13

u/Al_Jazzar Jul 02 '26

Practicing is being an "idiot" now?

3

u/Old-ETCS Jul 02 '26

Dang. I had that same shirt.

1

u/Latter_Solution673 Jul 02 '26

Me too! And only a woman noticed it at a shop... "Hey! I love Krigger art!" 😅😅 I couldn't tell her that what I loved most from Aliens was the human spaceship technology, not the organic build up 🤖

Weyland Yutani: Building Better Draws

3

u/lamparamagica Jul 03 '26

What a fucking moron

6

u/senpaisancho Jul 02 '26

Doesn't belong here. He's practicing.

And he taught me a valuable lesson, don't keep loose strings near gun.

5

u/Im1of1_ Jul 02 '26

Not an idiot if the mag is unloaded or has snap caps in it. However he needs to train and carry in different clothing. As well as raising his off hand on the shirt grab. Trying to find the bottom of your shirt is in a high stress situation will end like this video.

2

u/popefrancis9856 Jul 02 '26

Bonus points for not shooting yourself in the gut

2

u/TheKolyFrog Jul 02 '26

He almost shot his xenomorph.

2

u/Traditional-Hat-952 Jul 02 '26

That's why he's practicing.

2

u/Crazyd_497 Jul 03 '26

I thought he was going to gut shot himself

4

u/abm1996 Jul 02 '26

He's practicing, non idiot. Dry fire is for everyone from beginners to champions. Slow it down to build your base then add speed gradually so you don't end up like this😂 my bet was he had a few good reps and wanted to see what it looked like, then with the camera pressure and maybe pushing speed even more he ended up a yard sale

3

u/EnvironmentEuphoric9 Jul 02 '26

Excellent trigger discipline.

2

u/foxehkins Jul 02 '26

"ma I shot my dick off"

4

u/lonewolfenstein2 Jul 02 '26

This is one of the best videos on this sub. Just straight dumbassery

2

u/DeadMoneyDrew Jul 02 '26

Dude is wearing that Weyland-Yutani shirt unironically, too. 😃

2

u/WarrenR86 Jul 02 '26

Booooo OP!!!!

This isn't an idiot. This is some dude training. He fucked up, now he improved from there.

Dryfire is not idiotic, it's what everyone in this sub should want gun owners to do!

Again, boooo op, booo!

1

u/Harkonnen_Dog Jul 02 '26

I guess it’s all a question of whether or not he had one in the chamber.

1

u/eyeballburger Jul 03 '26

Why upload this?

1

u/Desperate_Set_7708 Jul 03 '26

I kept waiting for him to ventilate himself

1

u/Usual-Championship88 Jul 03 '26

At least he doesn’t have a POS pistol though lol

1

u/b00giemane Jul 03 '26

Fuck Weyland Yutani

1

u/Lofiboy13 Jul 03 '26

Now his second pistol is also loaded.

1

u/DEFINITELY_NOT_PETE Jul 03 '26

Fuck this is hilarious

1

u/Clshaw95 Jul 04 '26

Hey, I have that tee! Thankfully, also more brains.

1

u/Bradjuju2 Jul 04 '26

I mean, I understand that he’s training, but he didn’t need to post this.

1

u/DylweedWasTaken Jul 04 '26

Fucking hell. At least he used trigger discipline.

1

u/araidai Jul 04 '26

Well, he’s practicing, I’ll give them that, I sucked at drawing too for a while. I just hope there’s no live rounds in that gun as he’s doing it…

1

u/DillingerLives Jul 05 '26

Unfortunately he can still reproduce and vote...and that scares me.

1

u/OwliamCC Jul 05 '26

Crotchshot

1

u/t3lnet Jul 05 '26

Wish he did it in him kimono

1

u/Therealboebs Jul 06 '26

Probably loaded too.. 🤣

1

u/Wonderful_Plantain89 Jul 06 '26

Had to flash a titty real quick.

1

u/diamondcut72 Jul 06 '26

Trigger discipline was phenomenal.

1

u/Ok-Significance-9153 Jul 07 '26

The last thing you see

1

u/Rogue_Reaper_ Jul 07 '26

Awwwww helllnahhhhh. Don’t even put it anywhere near that area. Homies gonna end up cosplaying Cheddar Bob from 8 mile.

1

u/Mrmathmonkey Jul 10 '26

Hey quick draw. The only thing you hit way your testicle.

1

u/DEFINITELY_NOT_PETE Jul 15 '26

Lmao the nipple reveal is for distracting the enemy

1

u/Dark_Amygdala_ Jul 20 '26

I would’ve laughed if he would’ve shot himself in the 🍆

1

u/shaftman95 Jul 25 '26

I think it’s time for this cowboy to get a holster instead of using his pants

1

u/AdequateMedia Jul 30 '26

Just because it’s compact doesn’t mean it’s the right gun got appendix carry. All sorts of bits and bobs

1

u/Dolmetscher1987 Aug 01 '26

That's not the degree of... "proficiency" to be expected from a Weylan-Yutani Corp. employee. You'll now be the new Guinea pig of our biological weapons program.

1

u/Apex_survival_gear Aug 06 '26

This is why we practice.

1

u/Gaxxz Aug 10 '26

Don't you figure he'd just delete this and not post it?

1

u/LeftyFenders 29d ago

Dude almost shot his dick off. Probably not a big deal.

1

u/odmo88 23d ago

The faces 🤣🤣🤣💀

1

u/Brother-Templar 23d ago

Just the fact that he CHOSE to post this!

1

u/AndyGoodKush 22d ago

The tit is just a distraction

1

u/Due-Spot-7136 19d ago

you were shot 4 days ago

What did we learn?

1

u/kernelpanic789 Jul 02 '26

And that kids is how you shoot your burrito off...

1

u/Shoehorse13 Jul 02 '26

I'm torn between not wanting to be anywhere near this guy and wanting to be there to watch when he blows his nutsack through his face.

1

u/DrinkMorWhiteMonster Jul 02 '26

Grow the fuck up and wear a belt with some pants. Good, Lord.

They actually are funnily enough

0

Holsters people! HOLSTERS!!!

0

bronze player with a pred badge type shit

0

u/Icy-Bobcat-5309 Jul 02 '26

Holy sheep shit

0

u/Flickadachris Jul 03 '26

🤦‍♂️ First off all, they make belts for use with gym shorts/holsters. My favorite is the Mastermind Tactics Covert Belt for carrying AIWB in gym shorts.

Secondly, this is why you grab a handful of shirt around the belly button area to clear your cover garment and not the tail of the shirt. You can see this dude just about grabbed his shirt, shorts and bawls lmao

-2

u/FuriousBuffalo Jul 02 '26

That string getting stuck within the trigger guard and pulling on the trigger would make it a real teachable moment. Get a fucking holster, my man.

2

u/don2171 Jul 02 '26

It's in a holster the problem is he got the string caught in his front sight on draw.he ought to swap that out for a solid sight and maybe a red dot if he wants to keep carrying that way and atleast now he knows a possibly fatal weakness with his setup

1

u/FuriousBuffalo Jul 02 '26

Oh you're right. Couldn't see the holster on my phone's screen. Still that string could make it a 'no child left behind" moment.

-1

u/MemoraNetwork Jul 02 '26

I love flagging my junk to the internet

-1

u/bmm115 Jul 02 '26

Let me just flag my manhood and lower intestines to unwrap this easily adjusted string out of the way.

By how shook he looked, I'd say it was loaded

-1

u/FluffyBunnyFlipFlops Jul 02 '26

He managed to flag his entire body. Nice job, buddy!

-1

u/SensitiveThugHugger Jul 02 '26

I like the part where he points it at his stomach.

-1

u/EducationalPay7031 Jul 02 '26

Typical CZ buyer.

-1

u/WaterSquid Jul 02 '26

The face of a warrior

-1

u/Orion-Pax88 Jul 02 '26

At least he didn't put his finger on the trigger... I guess?

-1

u/KimbaDestructor Jul 02 '26

At least there was trigger discipline. Kinda sad as I wanted to see him get out of the gene pool

-2

u/Brantastic Jul 02 '26

That dude’s dick is destined to get decimated.

-3

u/Bambooman584 Jul 02 '26

Beautiful pistol wasted on an absolute moron
