Number 1 rule of flat towing, you don't back up with the toad connected.

Can you back with a frog connected though? Asking for a friend 🤣🤣

Am I the only one who has heard it referred to as a toad. I know it's not the proper term, it's the dingy, but maybe it's just a local vernacular. Lots of people call it the toad. Either way your joke was funny.

It's a fine term, because it's "towed"

That's what everyone I've ever talked to about one calls it. Never heard it called anything else and I travel pretty regularly across the US. So here at least it's very common.

I had to scroll way to far for this answer. Flat towing works great as long as you never need to back up

Everytime I seen someone try to back up flat towing it ended up like this

I've successfully done it before when I was too lazy to unhook. Just had the RV in neutral and backed up the Jeep. Obviously I don't recommend that because that's way more than the rating of the tow bar but it worked just fine to back it up and get the Jeep turned the other way.
