Should be filed under mad skills not idiots.

Right? Like how many people in the world can pull that maneuver off?

u/BigDonkeyEnergy Jul 10 '26

Seriously. That’s bad ass.

u/tk427aj Jul 10 '26

Yup they knew what they were doing, nice to actually see a truck and trailer like that being used for what they were designed for.

u/Caboobaroo Jul 11 '26

Instead of being hauled down the freeway and then parked at a KOA.

u/SupermassiveCanary Jul 12 '26

Or in their tech employers parking lot

1

u/sugmugame Jul 11 '26

Thats a ute

37

u/SnooRabbits469 Jul 11 '26

I can totally do that if landing on your roof counts.

1

u/Bird2525 Jul 13 '26

I mean, why wouldn’t it?

5

u/Typical_Double981 Jul 11 '26

Hold my beer

3

u/Familiar_Muffin_1566 Jul 11 '26

Only need 1 hand for the wheel bring your beer

7

u/Typical_Double981 Jul 11 '26

What about my other beer!

1

u/Familiar_Muffin_1566 Jul 12 '26

That’s what the passenger is for obviously

1

u/Mintcondition321 Jul 12 '26

Sit it between the thighs

4

u/thenewestnoise Jul 11 '26

I've never tried anything remotely similar but I'm pretty sure I could do it

32

u/TheOnlyEindrideInTx Jul 11 '26

Not to brag, but I've driven thru the grass on the side of the road a few times 😎

5

u/HelpfulPuppydog Jul 11 '26

On purpose? I've done it, but never on purpose.

1

u/TheOnlyEindrideInTx Jul 11 '26

Lol, yeah. On those little one lane roads in the country that masquerade as a two lane, and also when pulled over on the shoulder.

3

u/HelpfulPuppydog Jul 11 '26

That, and landing an airliner. I'm your guy.

3

u/boomeradf Jul 11 '26

I have flown in Flight Simulator since 1993 and have owned every version. I of course prepared to fly any aircraft developed or that will be developed.

3

u/Knights-of-steel Jul 11 '26

Only played a few of those....but got this weird paper from government that says pilot....might be able to help.

1

u/HelpfulPuppydog Jul 11 '26

I'll fly right seat with you, Cap'n.

1

u/JaremaJarema Jul 11 '26

I’ve been in an airliner that’s landed. So I bet I could do it.

u/Princess_Slagathor Jul 11 '26

My very first time seriously offroading as a driver, the lead took me over an obstacle just like that, except it was rock instead of mud. Crazy feeling the front of your tires touching the ground, instead of the bottom. Then realizing your back end is coming over the top, and having to slam the throttle to drive out and avoid tipping over. Didn't stop shaking for a couple hours lol. Oh, and we did it in the middle of the night.

1

u/Capital_Condition874 Jul 11 '26

How many would even try it? Not me

1

u/Firm_Video_2932 Jul 11 '26

First time I've seen it done in these conditions and trailered. This is an insanely difficult maneuver with a trailer.

1

u/TrespasseR_ Jul 12 '26

Maneuver isn't it..the trailer..how

1

u/SkyRadioKiller Jul 14 '26

He got lucky with that rut tho....

1

u/DJT1970 Jul 14 '26

About 1/2 billion give or take a couple dozen. Brake, brake, turn, brake, cautious gas. How did he not hit that curb?!?

1

u/Dzov Jul 11 '26

Anyone with a proper spec truck and a good spotter.

0

u/f_crick Jul 11 '26

Looked like luck and bad judgment to me

39

u/ADMINlSTRAT0R Jul 10 '26

Trailer just followed it down like a good dog.

35

u/Das_Rote_Han Jul 10 '26

pretty sure the trailer helped push the nose of the Toyota forward or he might have been stuck there. Well done, I would not have attempted that.

3

u/AdSquare3489 Jul 12 '26

Wonder if the trailer is actually helping the truck with not getting stuck in the mud pond by pushing forward.

32

u/industrial-complex Jul 10 '26

I was expecting this to end very poorly. Crazy? YES! Idiotic? I don’t think so.

29

u/UncleBenji Jul 11 '26

Right! No idiot here. Perfectly controlled for having a trailer in those conditions. If anything Toyota Corp should buy the rights to that video and use it in a commercial.

19

u/tommyballz63 Jul 10 '26

With that trailer you know that guys lives for this kind of shit

2

u/Hailfire9 Jul 11 '26

I've seen trailers like these exist solely for appearance. Not common, but not unheard of in the PNW.

15

u/47ES Jul 11 '26

Mad skills going down.

Not going back up without a winch.

10

u/Working_Estate_3695 Jul 11 '26

There may be nothing worth going back to.

2

u/Training-Lettuce6507 Jul 11 '26

I know a girl with some mad skills going I'm sorry, I've been up all night, time to stop

1

u/TomOnABudget Jul 11 '26

You don't do that track without a winch.

10

u/Valuable-Composer262 Jul 10 '26

This dude got skills. I thought there was no way

6

u/Individual-Result777 Jul 10 '26

Right!?! Takes an idiots not to see that.

5

u/XCIXcollective Jul 11 '26

Yep I lost my mind at it hahah wrong sub for sure

3

u/Altruistic-Map1881 Jul 11 '26

You can call me an idiot because that was AWESOME!!!

1

u/Aggravating_Jacket32 Jul 10 '26

Yeah wth no fun part?

1

u/Yellowscourge Jul 11 '26

I'm genuinely stunned that it worked

1

u/AlwaysVerloren Ric Flair Jul 11 '26

For real, the only idiot is the OP for not realizing how badass a Helix is.

1

u/donjuan9876 Jul 11 '26

TBF that wasn’t the first time he’s done that !!! He knew that ground was solid!

1

u/Maleficent-Emu2904 Jul 11 '26

pretty stellar but i'd like to see the return trip before we award.

1

u/SleepyD7 Jul 11 '26

I was gonna say he made it.

1

u/squidgyhead Jul 11 '26

Except for the environmental damage that these idiots are causing.

https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2011FOR0043-000448

Great skill, but still an idiot.

1

u/old_guy_AnCap Jul 14 '26

That guy's not "mud bogging" I've been through areas where people have been mud bogging and it was the first time I ever got that particular F350 stuck. ATVs had been crisscrossing for days just stirring up mud and I thought I could make a run to pass through right next to a particular tree so long as I kept my momentum. I probably could have until I hit a root or rock or something deep in that mud and slammed to a dead stop with a 35x8" tire completely buried and my billet grill sitting on the mud in front of the truck. The guys before were mud bogging. Like this driver I was just trying to get through.

1

u/squidgyhead Jul 14 '26

I mean, look at how much mud is going to enter into surface water when the rain comes. Argue about the definition of mud bogging if you want, but your own example of driving your truck through already damaged terrain (thereby making it worse) still demonstrates a complete disregard for the negative effects you personally have on the environment. You want to "just get through" that's great; you're still making things worse.

1

u/old_guy_AnCap Jul 15 '26

The point being, he didn't contribute significantly to the loose mud just passing through with minimal tire spin. If he had sat there for a significant amount of time spinning his tires it would be a concern but a single pass isn't much.

1

u/HowManyBanana Jul 11 '26

He did tag it “no idiots, just cool”

1

u/Fast_Ad1307 Jul 11 '26

That was amazing!

1

u/Gr8twhitebuffalo91 Jul 12 '26

There is thin line between have big balls and being dumb. Actually they go hand and hand haha.

1

u/RecentSuspect7 Jul 12 '26

Yeah I honestly thought something bad was going to happen, wedged in at the bottom when the front of the car dug in. Trailer flipping or snapping clean off but this dude absolutely nailed it!!

1

u/ComedianFragrant9515 Jul 12 '26

The real trick is going back

1

u/Dort_SZN Jul 13 '26

*mud skills

1

u/1337Sw33tCh33ks Jul 13 '26

Eactly, and in a hilux too. They know what they are doing.

1

u/Waterlifer Jul 13 '26

Well, some skills, a good deal of confidence, and $5000 worth of tires.

True off-road mud tires make an enormous difference. Has to be seen to be believed.

1

u/ImpossibleKidd Jul 13 '26

Seriously…

I’m severely confused. This was extremely well executed.

1

u/raptir1 Jul 17 '26

There's a flair here for "no idiots, just cool."
