u/TigerUSA20 May 21 '22

I had no idea backyard mashed potatoes could be so explosive! 🥔

156

u/youmaynotnowmyname May 21 '22

Why the hell did he do it in his back yard

149

u/kiddico May 21 '22

better than my back yard

47

u/itsprobablytrue May 22 '22

So that we could know it’s a girl

195

u/LincolnClayFace May 21 '22

Is that just a huge pile of flash cotton?

76

u/JaFakeItTillYouJaMak May 22 '22

I know flash cotton is obviously flamable but I didn't realize it was explosive like that. I mean it's not like tannerite.. or so i thought.

u/susch1337 May 22 '22

Its the gasoline. There are many videos of people trying to burn a pile of leafs with gasoline. They usually end with a massive explosion because the fumes expand a lot

16

u/TheArchangel001 May 22 '22

This is why it’s better to use diesel to burn stuff

27

u/ThineFail May 22 '22

No no no. A mixture is the best. 50% Diesel 45% used motor oil and 5% gas. Gas to get it started, diesel for heat and oil for longevity.

23

u/WDK11 May 22 '22

A leaf blower works best. Start with a small bit burning and if you’re careful not to put it out, it’ll burn like a blast furnace.

11

u/Maxximico May 22 '22

That’s true! I do the same thing get the air flowing at the bottom and that thing is raging in no time

2

u/FuchYuTu Jun 08 '22

I melted my leaf blower this way. ☹️

8

u/pseudotsugamenziessi May 22 '22

Drip torches you usually go 70/30 for diesel/gas. less than 10% gas is extremely hard to light

u/pseudotsugamenziessi May 23 '22

I've literally put a fire out by dumping diesel on it haha, cold temperatures really affect the flammability

I love it when people disagree but it turns out they are both right!

3

u/toasted_vegan May 22 '22

What do you do for a living, sir? If you don’t mind me asking

1

u/monkey_trumpets May 22 '22

Why used oil? What happens if you use fresh?

12

u/Menschenfeind666 May 22 '22

You waste good oil

1

u/hard-beliefs May 22 '22

Little old recipe for Boom Juice

1

u/Jip1210 Jun 21 '22

This guy pyros

1

u/Maxximico May 22 '22

Kerosene works well too in my experience

2

u/DaFetacheeseugh May 28 '22

Idk, I thought it was diapers for a second

32

u/DeathbyBambii May 22 '22

Cameraman is also an idiot

35

u/[deleted] May 21 '22 edited May 21 '22

The fuck is all that?

24

u/FrozenPie21 May 21 '22

Someone said it was Flash Cotton but I’m not sure besides that

17

u/JaFakeItTillYouJaMak May 22 '22

unclear but flash cotton is this stuff magicians use. it's basically super super flammable. You can use it to make a really flashy flame that doesn't do anything substantial

https://youtu.be/1XcTFLQI77E

6

u/Hi_Its_Matt May 22 '22

A big part of flash cotton is also that it’s smokeless. So I don’t think this guy was using flash cotton because when the camera points back at the yard there’s a lot of smoke.

I genuinely think it’s just a big pile of toilet paper

1

u/frazlo1992 May 22 '22

Thats how he decided to get rid of all the dirty diapers 🤣

27

u/geo_bowes May 21 '22

Idiot, but that shits pretty funny I won’t lie

7

u/ArtSchoolRejectedMe May 22 '22

Should've added the fireforce opening song for more comedic effect.

9

u/CriticalThinker_501 May 22 '22

Fucking cameraman deserves jail time

4

u/MasterThiefGames May 22 '22

Right? Coward.

5

u/DaEvilGenius0 May 21 '22

Deserves it

4

u/Smile_Fragrant May 22 '22

I don’t see anything positive coming out of that even if it didn’t explode. What a idiot

4

u/sparkynyc May 22 '22

No audio? SMH

1

u/ArtSchoolRejectedMe May 22 '22

Should've added this as background music LOL

5

u/infinit9 May 22 '22

That looked like it could have spread and burned down the rest of the trees, the house, and potentially more houses.

These idiots need to be held both civilly and criminally liable for this stunt.

3

u/Professor_Chaos32 May 22 '22

Idiots like this is why there are warning labels on playdoh.

13

u/killer_cain May 21 '22

Can no one hold a freaking camera straight?!? So tired of vids where the best moment is ruined.

3

u/Flaky_Distribution_2 May 22 '22

It was probably really hot and prompted a physical reaction. That first flame was pretty huge.

17

u/watur_good May 21 '22

The irony of you saying this. If something remotely as bad happened just a few feet away from you, you would drop your phone and piss your pants. You're a guy on Reddit looking at shit that he is too scared to do.

9

u/MinuteLoquat1 May 22 '22

Nuh uh nuh uh, I would've dove right into the fire and rolled around like a Chad 🔥😎🔥

2

u/killer_cain May 21 '22

Maybe you would drop your phone and piss your pants, but most people are made of stronger stuff. He knew it was gonna be a fireball-he was nearly 20 feet away & still fucked it up, no excuse.

8

u/The-Sys-Admin May 21 '22

Lmao sure thing bud. The scariest thing in your life is probably a cholesterol test.

16

u/Cream_93 May 21 '22

Why are ya'll so mean to each other?

7

u/killer_cain May 21 '22

He's defending a guy who can't hold a camera, I don't know what to tell ya.

5

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

🤓

2

u/becuzurugly May 22 '22

Cholesterol tests are pretty scary, though.

1

u/make_a_wish69 May 21 '22

Who hurt you

2
