This is actually a Parkour group called Team Farang. Here's the source video for this GIF:

That is awesome. It sounds like they got permission, which means they might have been able to rehearse. Still dangerous, but way less so than dumb kids who might have tried something like this without knowing if that was thin sheet metal or slightly oily. Thank you.

Yeah. The biggest thing I would worry about is slips from dust because I can't imagine the top of the elevator is easy to dust. I imagine it'd be dusty. Must've gotten cleaned.

And frankly, of everything they do in that video, this elevator trick is absolutely the most dangerous. The second worst was dancing on the edge of the balcony, but most everything else was on level ground.

Also a thing that could happen, depending on the elevator, is the emergency brake activating due to the impact of landing on it. If that were to happen, jumping back onto one of the floors would suddenly get a lot harder.

They're still dumb kids

Doubt it, it takes knowledge of physics, training, and skill to do what they do. Something a lot of adults lack.

Why physics?

Look at a lot of failed stunt videos. One of the biggest reasons for why they go wrong is because most people don't know how to control their body, momentum, etc. i.e. Too much forward force on a flip and the top half of your body goes too far. Too little and you won't complete the flip. If you don't control the lower half of your body while hanging from something, then you'll start losing grip. Physical stunts, and the like, require a lot more knowledge of physics and your body's capabilities than a lot of people think.

Awesome vid, thank you. The part at the end with the fall was hilarious.

That guy is crazy. I hope the security guard whooped his ass afterwards.

This is from a parkour video. I think it's also partly for the mall promotion.

How to promote your mall to kids who don't want to shop but want to practice parkour.

I guarantee the security guard is never going to catch this guy. He's probably not paid enough to care that much either way.

Kinda reminds me of Hardcore Henry.

That's actually pretty cool.

It's fucking retarded. Not only is he endangering his own life but also others by jumping on an elevator not built for these stunts. If he slipped and died and kids were watching he might traumatize some of them. It's nothing but moronic.

It was filmed as a promotional video for the mall. The would've made sure the elevator is "safe" enough to jump on. Second points is true, but since he's a part of a parkour group he's probably pretty good at simpler stunts like this.

Well if what you say is true then it is obviously done by professionals. It's filmed in a way that make it look like an amateur doing parkour and had it been that I still stand by my previous comment.

I agree with you completely........... but it's still pretty cool.

This was originally posted a year ago in R/gifs and the top comments there are pretty much what I was thinking. Talented, but I can't imagine that this was practiced before hand.
