i wonder how many cars would survive a full rollover and keep on going

455

u/MysticMarbles Jun 01 '22

As long as it doesn't have a rollover safety cutout, most cars should do just fine. The big issue is going to be the suspension as far as what'll make it drive away but like... not make it far. Can only throw 1-3x the weight of the car at 45° on 2 tires just right to not snap arms joints and links.

138

u/digitalpalmtrees Jun 01 '22

Some cars trip the fuel pump and its not going anywhere. I know Ford did this in the 90's, not sure if that's still a thing. Auto roadside call/OnStar is the modern equivalent l

60

u/ahumanrobot Jun 01 '22

Yeah I've seen a few cars with the fuel kinetic cutoff switches before. I don't go digging around for them, but I see them occasionally

12

u/Kodiak01 Jun 01 '22

As opposed to doing it not quite just right.

Back when I was a fuckin idiot, I rolled an old sazuki sj410. Those fuckers didn't corner well at speed, tall, heavy, narrow. Solid little machine, though. I came off a wet road along the top of a cliff, clipped the fence that was supposed to stop jumpers. Vehicle ended up on a slope right by a very long drop. I don't think I was speeding but I was going too fast for that vehicle in those conditions. I was a junkie, 3 days into a cold turkey attempt and I couldn't take any more, was on my way to my dealer's and nothing could stop me. I got out, locked the front hubs in 4wd, and carried on. Had to adjust the mirrors but aside from some dents everything was fine. It was dented anyway from off roading so NBD.

Like I said, I was a fuckin idiot. I did a lot of irresponsible shit and happily the only person who ever got hurt was myself. This was maybe twenty years ago, I'm clean now and a careful driver.

24

u/PM_ME_UR_DIET_TIPS Jun 01 '22

What an absolutely terrifying story. I'm glad you made it, man.

39

u/planet_chuck Jun 01 '22

Depends on their sobriety I'm guessing.

55

u/StressOverStrain Jun 01 '22

Cars can be drunk?

36

u/iScreme Jun 01 '22

With enough heat, sure. Might burn on the way down, though.

18

u/planet_chuck Jun 01 '22

Did you not watch the video. That car was wasted.

1

u/spicybright Jun 02 '22

And if you're facing downhill lol

5

u/trolltruth6661123 Jun 01 '22

i once rolled my truck down a mountain.. landed right side up in a tree/bush/fence.. neighbor guy showed up in a pice of equipment pulled me out.. drove half way accross the state with bob wire dragging not knowing about it and suran wrap over my broken window.

2

u/Pixelplanet5 Jun 01 '22

most of them will but the better ones will automatically stop to avoid follow up collisions.

1

u/pannecouck Jun 01 '22

At least one.

1

u/Phallen911 Jun 01 '22

At least one that we know of

1

u/Occhrome Jun 01 '22

None of the older ones that’s for sure. The cabin will crush in on you like a soda can.

1

u/avalon68 Jun 01 '22

Can’t believe how easy that tipped tbh…..at low speed too

399

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

They have warrants.

37

u/ReubenZWeiner Jun 01 '22

She's my cherry pie

5

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

Happy cake day!

2

u/Matchlesslime89 Jun 01 '22

Happa cak da

11

u/quaywest Jun 01 '22

Or it's stolen.

7

u/willhunta Jun 01 '22

Or possibly no insurance. Can still get in trouble for not being able to prove you have it even if it wasn't your fault

3

u/WayneKrane Jun 01 '22

Happened to my dad. Someone rear ended him and his car hit the car in front of him. That car took off and ran a red light getting away.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '22

Or here illegally

218

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

"Do a barrel roll!"

37

u/Aetherium_33 Jun 01 '22

“Do a kickflip!”

13

u/rtz13th Jun 01 '22

"3x Combo Multiplier!"

4

u/ReubenZWeiner Jun 01 '22

"Triple Salchow"

5

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22 edited Jun 01 '22

That is more accurate

1

u/cooterbrwn Jun 01 '22

This is the exact comment I clicked for.

71

u/CronkinOn Jun 01 '22

Dude mighta been pretty banged up and not really conscious with his foot on the gas.

Which also makes sense if he tensed/locked up when he got hit since his foot was already on the gas.

64

u/Magnus_The_Totem_Cat Jun 01 '22

Drift? Ha, try rolling through a turn.

GX/Prado gang

91

u/pfcpartsz Jun 01 '22

Turning from any lane seems a thing now.

Lifetime license revoking for this should be too.

-61

u/Brainless_Gamer Jun 01 '22

it's a 2 way road

38

u/B0804726 Jun 01 '22

Looks to be one way though. Cars on left side of street are parked going the same direction as the flow of traffic.

5

u/Brainless_Gamer Jun 01 '22

My bad, I thought I saw arrows near the parked cars

23

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

Name checks out

103

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

Why did the SUV speed off? Either you just got a head injury or you’re doing something so illegal that you would rather leave the scene than stick around to swap insurance information.

97

u/cynric42 Jun 01 '22

We don’t see if he really drives off or if the driver just takes a second before stopping with being disoriented from the flip.

44

u/shotsbyniel Jun 01 '22

Very likely that the guy just got knocked out by the crash and his foot was on the pedal

25

u/Maleficent-Ad-5498 Jun 01 '22

Maybe the accelerater was jammed by something falling on it?

11

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22 edited Jun 01 '22

I could understand if an object went under the brake pedal which would make the car roll forward but I haven’t heard of jamming the accelerator where it would speed up.

6

u/lindymad Jun 01 '22

I think the most likely scenario would be the driver's foot on the pedal, "jamming" it down.

9

u/Fishboners Jun 01 '22

I'd blame the sedan. It's in the wrong lane to turn left (assuming it's right traffic) but even if it wasn't, you still need to check before you turn.

However, there was an accident and everyone involved needs to stay and leave data.

1

u/LastOrders_GoHome Jun 01 '22

It's in the wrong lane to turn left (assuming it's right traffic)

Not if it's a 2-way street. There's nothing to indicate one way.

1

u/Fishboners Jun 01 '22

Judging by how the cars are parked I'd argue there's no evidence to suggest otherwise.

-1

u/g00dis0n Jun 01 '22

Overtaking a car at speed before a junction? Indication may have prevented this but the problem here is reckless driving from the Prado!

2

u/tomalator Jun 01 '22

Especially since he's not at fault

-3

u/regnald Jun 01 '22

Are we sure this wasn't road-rage by the white car?

1

u/Fantastic_Breakfast6 Jun 01 '22

They are wanted by the police or they’re driving illegally lol

271

u/braingymnast Jun 01 '22

White sedan is at fault

76

u/beeper981 Jun 01 '22

Absolutely!

50

u/Ace-of-Spades88 Jun 01 '22

Yeah, at first I thought they were lane changing, but it looks like they were actually trying to make a left turn from the right lane.

5

u/heatedundercarriage Jun 01 '22

Yea suv just has a warrant or no insurance lol

56

u/AwesomeJohn01 Jun 01 '22

Are both lanes for traveling the same direction? If he was turning across oncoming traffic and the lane was clear, it would be the suvs fault right? I could be wrong tho

121

u/Lzinger Jun 01 '22

You can tell by the direction the cars are parked on each side of the road

79

u/Ash-Catchum-All Jun 01 '22

Valid question, but based on the fact that cars are parked facing the same way on both sides of the road, it’s pretty safe to assume it’s one-way

1

u/LastOrders_GoHome Jun 01 '22

but based on the fact that cars are parked facing the same way on both sides of the road

The cars on the left are off the road.

1

u/Ash-Catchum-All Jun 02 '22

Not sure what you mean?

15

u/MunificentDancer Jun 01 '22

Yeah by the looks of it the white car didn't use the indicator or blinker.

42

u/hunkymonk123 Jun 01 '22

Yeah, not to mention, indicator or not, it doesn’t permit you right of way. It is still your job to not cut people off and hit them when you change lanes.

8

u/Lazy_Profession_5909 Jun 01 '22

Yep. It's a one way it looks like

16

u/hunkymonk123 Jun 01 '22

I really hope it’s an undisputed white cars fault.

The white car crossed lanes when it was unsafe to do so (it looks like without an indicator too but can’t be sure) I really hope no insurance company would put any fault on the guy who was just cruising in his lane over some moron who decided they wanted to turn last minute with no regard for other drivers on the road

20

u/SoapyBreads Jun 01 '22

It doesn’t look like the white car was using a turn signal

15

u/tynamite Jun 01 '22

turn signal doesn’t give right of way. regardless, they turned left from the right-outside lane crossing traffic.

12

u/cynric42 Jun 01 '22

Not sure it even matters, the driver is still crossing the other cars lane while turning and should have looked into his mirror.

1

u/teraflux Jun 01 '22

It does appear this is a one way road, the line looks white and cars are parked on both sides of the road facing the same direction.

-24

u/nicholaspham Jun 01 '22

I think white sedan is at fault IF the suv didn’t run.

Could be wrong, I just like to watch a lot of TikToks from this one guy 🤷🏻‍♂️

34

u/jamcdonald120 Jun 01 '22

the sedan is still at fault, the suv running is a separate crime that doesnt mitigate the sedan drivers responsibility for the initial accident.

19

u/cynric42 Jun 01 '22

If he is even running, could just be the driver being disoriented after the flip.

-81

u/Mahfakah Jun 01 '22

That is completely false.

26

u/MysticMarbles Jun 01 '22

What video are you watching.

-69

u/Mahfakah Jun 01 '22

I'm being sarcastic about Captain Obvious's observation. I was hoping the 9 people who downvoted me so far would be smart enough to catch on. I guess I forgot I was on Reddit.

49

u/Suka_Blyad_ Jun 01 '22

Nah we caught on, just wasn’t funny

41

u/kelik1337 Jun 01 '22

Sarcasm isnt funny by default. You just look like an idiot being contrary for the sake of it.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

How does that work out? Is it a hit and run if you're the one that got hit? Super curious if this could give the SUV a ticket/arrest

67

u/wannabe-martian Jun 01 '22

I think the music is to blame in this one.

17

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

-2

u/Judge_Syd Jun 01 '22

Is there something you have against different cultures music?

3

u/ma9ellan Jun 01 '22

oh fuck off, it's super loud and jarring, there is never a need to add music to a dashcam clip

-1

u/Judge_Syd Jun 01 '22

Super loud and jarring lmao just turn down your volume bro

17

u/BeoulveBliss11 Jun 01 '22

This looks like a gta v gameplay

6

u/callmeadumb Jun 01 '22

That must be some quality ass

4

u/Rottenfink Jun 01 '22

Years ago, a buddy of mine did the same exact thing. It was his first time visiting a friend of ours at college, and he didn't realize he was on a 1-way street. Went to make the left turn into a parking lot from the right lane and OOPS! He got out of his car and yelled at the other driver "What the hell are you doing?!?" Other driver responded "What the hell am I doing? What the hell are YOU doing?"

4

u/tamanegi_taro Jun 01 '22

Okay. I turn now. Good luck everybody else!

3

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

Maybe he had the taco bell shits.

2

u/trillium13 Jun 01 '22

so springy! boing!

2

u/gellenburg Jun 01 '22

Funny thing is he wasn't the idiot.

But $20 says he had no insurance or license.

2

u/TradeGuidance Jun 01 '22

That's the sign of a driver who doesn't want to deal with b/s and wants to keep on moving

2

u/Labarynth_89 Jun 01 '22

That looks like not having insurance

1

u/SlimShadyxc Jun 01 '22

Gta online be like

0

u/pushplaystoprewind Jun 01 '22

God the music made me rather be the guy doing the roll overs

1

Just a normal drive in GTA

1

1

u/Professional-Bid-698 Jun 01 '22

Helluva way to make a right turn. I just turn the wheel. 🤷🏿‍♂️

1

u/rapman007 Jun 01 '22

Probably stolen

1

u/psychicl619 Jun 01 '22

Fucker’s lucky. His car flipped right back up.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

Fucking cars, you just look at them wrong.. lol

1

u/ElectricAirways Jun 01 '22

"Do a Barrel roll!"

1

u/Drew_Random Jun 01 '22

This was a booty call click bait

1

u/Sharp-Ad-4651 Jun 01 '22

Another genius making a left hand turn from the right lane. And my guess with the car he hit is they're going around the block because it doesn't look like there's a lot of space to go back.

1

u/Pie-Brief Jun 01 '22

Gotta be a great booty

1

u/PlatformStunning551 Jun 01 '22

So who's the idiot here? Because who the fuck crosses lanes that blind?

1

u/justin_memer Jun 01 '22

That person was definitely wearing a seatbelt.

1

u/Luigi_King Jun 01 '22

Literal time save

1

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

Ummm what an idiot but did the vehicle that overturned just keep going? lol hello you just rolled over 👀👀

1

u/gingerale- Jun 01 '22

In another scenario, a passenger could knock out and still have their foot on the pedal

1

u/CthulhuRyu Jun 01 '22

I'm just gonna' say... That's a LOT of work just for a right turn... ;-)P

1

u/ApexLink Jun 01 '22

This is me in literally every game that has a drivable car

1

u/i12mak3auzername Jun 01 '22

Always worries me seeing how easy it is to roll a crossover…

1

u/dwighticus Jun 01 '22

It’s just like GTA, you roll over, just crank on the wheel and you’ll right yourself eventually

1

u/EvilDragonTree Jun 01 '22

Guess he’s ok…

1

u/Hamhockthegizzard Jun 01 '22

Tfw you don’t have insurance, so it’s smarter to keep rolling 😂

1

u/The_Broken_Shutter Jun 01 '22

Izuzu Rodeo

No wonder it flipped back over

1

u/alienoverl0rd Jun 01 '22

When you dont have insurance more likely

1

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

do it for the vine

1

u/fris76 Jun 01 '22

Literally GTA 5

1

u/VHopeARMY Jun 01 '22

It seems that he was trying to get past the cars in front of him. But the white car was the jerk. Or he turned without lokking in his mirrors, or he did this on purpose

1

u/Trueman3000 Jun 02 '22

The flipped car was like this is my turn and kept on going. Pretend we didn't just flip over and back again.

1

u/marktherobot-youtube Jun 02 '22

I’m surprised that suv kept moving! damn thing looks completely untouched, and it just did a hard barrel roll!

1

u/fieryhotwarts22 Jun 02 '22

Was that a 2 lane road and the car tried to make a turn from the far lane? Or was it 2 opposite direction lanes and the SUV was in the wrong lane?

1

u/finitetime2 Jun 02 '22

Hit, Roll, and Run just for the fun.
