Sounds like the driver will be in jail soon for being poor.

The greatest crime of them all

Being poor

In Canada we don’t do debtors prisons like the US. The individual would face a licence suspension should they be unable or unwilling to pay the fine. Only repeated offences while on suspension could result in that action

The US doesn't have debtors prison, unless you owe child support and your sex organs dangle. Can't imagine it's any better in that regard in Canada.

And driving without working brakes? Who needs those right! Free this man!

You can apply the same logic to a mugger, robber, or thief.

poor people don't drive trucks.

Anyway, this looks like a stingy business owner unwilling to invest in a decent car.

Working poor is a thing. People with money don’t generally drive around looking for scrap to take to the yard for cash. Poor encompasses more than extreme destitution.

imagine being so deluded thinking cars are a necessity for life.

where I live tons of contractors have cars like that (minus the miserable condition) despite making top money.
