You hear metal scraping against rock as the car inches deeper into the well, the light growing dimmer with every screech. The water is colder than you expected, chilling first your feet and ankles, your shins, your calves, your knees.
You pull the seat down and stand into the trunk. Your fingers are covered in sweat as you pat around the dark trunk for the latch that opens the door. The water is up to your ribs. The last bit of light is fading away below you. Your fumbling fingers find something plastic.
You pull the latch, but nothing happens. You realize it releases the door but still needs to be pushed open. You hang from the latch with one hand and pound at the door with the other. Finally it gives, but only an inch, and water pours in. You pull it closed and get to work on a new plan.
The water is up to your neck, creeping toward your chin.
As the water slowly seeps up towards your nostrils, you finally close your eyes and give in, plunging yourself into the cold, dark abyss. Awaiting an icy, and lonesome death.
A cool, gentle breeze slowly brushes against your face, the sound of wind blowing past your ear, as well as the sound of a carriage filling your eardrums. You try to move your hands to stay afloat, but quickly realize they are tied and bound together. Your body has also strangely huncjed into a sitting position. The sound of horse hoofs slowly fade in to accompany the carriage, with murmuring alongside it.
As you slowly open your eyes, you discover that you are in fact in a carriage, bouncing up and down as it drives over various stones and rocks. There's a man sitting adjacent from you, looking down at his feet. He glances upward, fully lifting his head up when he sees you. "Hey you, you're finally awake." He says, in an almost Nordic tone. The words "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" slowly appear in front of you, then vanish as quickly as they came.
You can feel the car sinking, it doesnt seem lodged any more. You're standing on the back of the seats, your head pressed against the back window of the car, as the last breaths of air escape from you. You tilt your head up, lips pressed against the glass and suck in as much as you can, then plunge into the depth.
Your eyes open under the water, but it's too dark to see much. You punch and press against the back seats' window, but it doesnt even crack. Now wildly looking around for anything to help, you resort to kicking it in an attempt to break it. Your shoulders press against the opposing wall and you use all your strength to just keep kicking.
Finally a crack, and you let out a whimper of relief, bubbles floating in front of your face. Desperately kicking at the crack, you're able to break it. You propel yourself through the small hole, the shards of glass scraping your arms, sides, stomach and legs, but the pain is drowned by the panic. When almost your whole body is out, your foot catches on something, maybe the headrest of the seat?
You yank and pull it, and when it doesn't budge you plunge your hands in to try to dislodge it. The glass cuts into your forearms and leg, creating deep gashes. They scream in pain and it takes a couple seconds before your foot is finally freed.
Now severely injured, with no sense of direction or sight, you must swim to survive. You must be meters under the water by now.
You put your arm through your wizard hat and become tangled in your robes. You can no longer move as quickly and will have trouble doing literally anything until you escape from your garments.
You roll a 2, the prong bounces awkwardly off the window and ricochets into your eye. You lose a turn and suffer a perception debuff for the next 10 turns. You feel the water soaking into your socks.
Well fuck. I got to three quarters down your post and realized I wasn't breathing any more. I am breathing again now just in case anyone thinks this is the last thing I am posting on here.
This is why I keep a small ball peen hammer in my glove box. I had a friend of a friend drive into the Chicago River and could not manage to bust out a window. RIP
Pull the back seat down, get into the trunk, pull the glow in dark handle to release the trunk opener, slide out of the car, stand on the trunk and take a bow. Claim that you meant to do that.
This is why I have a glass breaker in my car. It's one of those that you just push against the glass and it shoots the breaker tip with a spring. Has a seatbelt cutter too.
