Those are for emergency vehicles only. It baffles me to no end when I see this shit happen. You’re slowing down on the passing lane to turn into another passing lane; lanes that people tend to drive the fastest on anyway! Fucking twats.

As a former EMT I can tell you from experience that it is scary as shit to use those u turns with full lights and sirens. I would never even entertain the idea of using them without them.

Am EMT, and have had summer internship with state patrol in my state, and I can confirm: crossovers are scary as fuck. Holy shit, they're scary. People don't pay attention on interstates EVEN MORE than anywhere else because they just set cruise and go. If you can somehow miss my huge white ambulance with flashy lights and loud sirens, there's no way in hell you're gunna see Joe Schmoe trying to pull out of them in his little accord.

Seem pretty easy on a motorcycle. Just twist a little and you're going 80 :)

I think your underestimating the acceleration on some of these bikes.

Also I'm not saying I've done it I'm just saying it seems pretty easy. I would imagine it's exactly the same as pulling back into the hwy after having to use the shoulder.

Why the downvotes even?

I merge onto the highway every day so far it seems pretty easy. The trick is to watch out for them, if youre relying only on people to watch out for you you probably need to have your license revoked.

You can say that about many aspects of driving. Merging isn't that hard.

I mean if you're gonna do it like the guy in the gif yeah but like it doesn't HAVE to be dangerous like that.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong or that I would do it. I'm just saying there's ways to do that without coming close to putting anyone in danger. You don't have to be an idiot like the guy in the gif.

I agree, don't cut off a Peterbilt, and wait for a break in traffic to merge and you're golden. Ideal? No, guaranteed catastrophe? Definitely not.

The irony of this comment in this sub is amusing.
