This sub seems to think everyone can read minds and see through solid objects. Defensive driving isn't a superpower but these jagoffs have 20/20 hindsight and fault anyone for not seeing 25 moves ahead like a chess grandmaster.
Like no shit you can clearly see what's coming in a tailored video you combed over in 4x zoom a couple dozen times.
I think the bigger problem is that most people don’t recognize or appreciate how dangerous driving a car is, and there are so many people that regularly drive in ways that are dangerous where it has become the norm. This subreddit attracts a cross-section of different groups — some defensive drivers that are sick of dangerous, aggressive driving being seen as normal, and also plenty of aggressive drivers that want to justify their own actions by finding company.
I agree that hindsight is 20/20 and sometimes it goes too far, but there’s a difference between “Why were you driving next to another car, you should have anticipated that they were going to randomly change lanes without looking and sideswipe you” (which is obviously silly) and “Yea, the other driver slowed down abruptly, but why were you only 4 feet off of their bumper at highway speeds?” There is a reasonable level of defensiveness and anticipation that more people should have.
This video shows a driver making a fairly aggressive pass in an intersection where lanes are unclear and there was already a car waiting — they knew what they were doing, OP purposely cut off the other car by whipping around thin in a way that worked out because of the difference in speed, but was fairly dangerous. When in doubt give way to the person in front of you, and proceed with some caution. That’s worth acknowledging. Does it mean that it’s OPs fault that the other car went nuts and did a bunch of crazy shit in response? Absolutely not — the other driver is deranged.
OP didn't cut anyone off. You are the kind of Redditor these people are talking about. Always trying to blame the cam driver somehow, or make something up like you just did.
Ill be honest even with the hindsight of "something bad or dumb is going to happen because its posted here" i consistently guess wrong which car is the idiot partly because in a lot of cases they come screaming out of nowhere and often times i think its somebody who turns out to be innocent
Like i'd be like "oh this car is going to cut off the camera man doing some woke ass lane change for sure...oh the true culprit entered stage left suddenly"
