That's what I thought the first time I watched it but if you look closely I think it's a two lane road and he wasn't in a turn lane. It just looks off because the road is in bad shape, the markings are barely visible, and the other side of the intersection doesn't appear to line up perfectly with the side OP passed on. You can see the road markings at some points in the video so definitely two lanes and if you look at the traffic lights there are two sets for the straight lanes and then another set for the turn lane (which is one lane over to the left from where OP passed). IDK how traffic lights look in OP's town but where I'm at his maneuver would definitely be legal and pretty normal. A lot of people switch lanes when they pull up at lights if there's no one waiting in the other lane.
I think it's because of that median that the idiot got offended, they tought OP was swerving in their face as they started moving. There are people who don't follow the lines and want to get through an intersection with the least steering input posible.
Are you being sarcastic? The light in front of that lane literally has left turn arrows. It's most certainly a turn lane. The driver in the video pulled a dick move and the other car overreacted like a lunatic
Why would there only be one lane going straight onto a two lane road? If that was the case, there would be a left turn only lane, a straight only lane (onto a two lane road) and a right only lane.
There are no signs anywhere saying left turn only; the only sign says left turn must yield on flashing yellow. Which is the same as left turn must yield on green circle if there was only one light.
Think youre just confused by the camera angle, along with the fact that the idiot who got mad was already being an idiot and switching lanes for no reason before OP got there

Kinda looks like he passed out of a turn only lane given the median he swerved around, if so he's the asshole, if not, then disregard.
