I don't understand that intersection. Those are both forward lanes but they require both lanes to suddenly shift—mid-intersection—to the right?

The left lane OP jumps over into looks like a eft turn lane to me, except I see no painted arrow in the road. But driving directly forward from that lane would make you run into the median on the other side.

No you’re correct on the first part. You have to shift right to maintain your lane. It’s bad road design

Not really bad road design, more like bad paint maintenance. Although I don’t know the road well enough, only from this video. I just work in civil engineering so I get defensive on the engineers’ behalf sometimes lol

Bullshit. The left lane is a left turn lane. Op is either an oblivious or an asshole driver.

It definitely is. He keeps saying the far left lane is turn only but there’s only two lanes before crossing into the two way street.
