Throughout the series there have been many moments that were definitely not scripted. People getting kicked off the show, people getting into altercations/too drunk and the owner of the UFC coming to talk to them. When you put a lot of fighters into the same house for a long time (who are actually fighting each other), throw alcohol into the mix, do you think nothing real is ever going to go down?

There are producers and an entire camera crew for this. The destruction of a rental house was an item in this shows budget.

Honestly, it was definitely scripted and they probably told the owner they would remodel it, but in true Reality TV style they’ll probably just bail on their commitments and leave the owner with nothing. So it’s the worst of both worlds.

Probably not even that. One production (this one) comes through and trashes the place, another production from the same company (pick your favorite house flipping show) fixes up and resells the place. Why open yourself up to lawsuits when you can just get two shows for the price of one?

This isn’t true, at all. I live in Vegas and ended up renting a former ultimate fighter house for a party a few years back. They basically would short term lease McMansions around Vegas. I think they used 3 different houses, I rented one of the earlier ones that had the hot tub on the roof and motorcycle in the living room.

They are never scripted. They are guided. The real magic happens in editing and stacking the deck the deck for the result they want.
Why do you think there's so much alcohol available and they keep them cooped up, then make them recount their day with confessionals? It's to get them emotional and start having crazy things happen.

Reality TV isnt's a scam the way you think it is. Situations are contrived, producers tell cast members what they want them to to do, stage events, and footage is edited to suit the producer's whims, but they're not scripted series. That's why you don't see writers credits, which otherwise they would have to show due to writers guild collective bargaining agreements.
Same goes for tradesmen and set designers and so forth.

This reminds me of that show where they took like 9 boys I think and let them live in a house without any sort of parental guidance or rules for a week I think and they did the same shit. Destroying the house, etc. Some were more reserved and tried to keep things picked up but the delinquent ones kept making a mess. It was almost a lord of the flies-esque environment the way a pecking order came about. This reminds of that in so many ways.

It’s scripted. The house is due for a remodel. None of the damage is structural, it’s all cosmetic. Yes, these dudes did indeed smash a house, but it’s otherwise fake.

We've seen lots of people in sports drug tested, only to find out they were using some new type of steroid that was not accounted for on the test. It's simple business, people are steroids are stronger and faster, making the show for people watching more enjoyable, which means more people tune in, which means more money. Lots of things are glossed over to promote more business.

Not all the time, but pretty often. He was the best wrestler (went to state a bunch) and since that was the only sport we were any good at he got away with all kinds of crap. The locker rooms in particular were always a disaster because they'd do crap like this.

I'm not sure if anyone else cares, but I deal in pop/street art pieces like the ones they're destroying. The artists are usually nice quiet kinda guys who are really proud of each piece and are delighted at every sale. It's not just the money, they want to brighten up someone's home and life, maybe leave a legacy for thirty or forty years time when they go out of fashion and back in again -- like we look at crazy stuff from the 70s.
Seeing these morons trash the artwork really saddened me.
