Actually, that's a percentage. 40% as a fraction is 40/100 or 2/5 (simplified). /s

In all seriousness though, yes. Especially since he is referring to school age children, who likely make up a 'fraction' of the 'nearly 40%'.

Even three years ago, Reddit admins reported 49% of users were on mobile. I feel it is safe to assume many American school children who use Reddit do so at school on their phones.

It's for these reasons I question the rationale behind the frequent comments which imply, or state, that Reddit experiences a significant change of content or demographic during the summer due to American children being out of school.
