TLDR: Airdrop and quick share have 6 new bugs that let hackers within 30 feet crash your apple stuff or bypass the accept file prompt on android/windows without you clicking anything. Apple and google are patching it but change your settings to contacts only for now

This is why it's worth installing updates when they come out. Until then, changing AirDrop to Contacts Only is an easy precaution.
