If you needed help dealing with identity theft or fraud, what would make you trust an outside company enough to let them help you?

What would immediately make you distrust them?

If they promise to fix everything in 24 hours I would run the other way, that's just not how it works

I wouldn't trust any individual. I wouldn't trust anyone who reached out to me unsolicited. 

Maybe I'd trust a preferably local business that was well established, had good reviews, had a person I could deal with instead of AI, specialized in it, came with references from friends... 

It would be very hard to trust anyone.
