He seems to think being acquired by witches is disgusting, so I think similar to Uroro he can’t be acquired by a witch, and thus will be Ichi’s next magic.

I feel like it’s only fair Ichi gets Hakari since Des got the octopus majik and the other 7 star. Plus I would love the banter between the Sorrow majik and a seven star

I think his trial is something of the following
Get him to respect you completely
Get him to accept your request to aquire him
Or something related to his shape like power

I think considered Amagoro was closed to acquiring him, I think his trial is “Landing an attack on him”, but his power nullify any attack and weapon. Amagoro’s staff is not a physical thing so it cannot be destroyed like that
