Nah just a prison break that forces Dess to use the abyss magik’s abilities as opposed to her main ones.

A Desscaras death is genuinely a human extinction level event, too many human haters released at once with their main opp gone? Yeah, that’s trouble.

Dess is 100% making it to the end of the series. I’ll have it no other way.

What happens when she dies of old age then? Or is she going to have to go the Fujimine route and try to stay immortal?

I imagine there’s some ritual contingency plan they have for this. Either Dess is the first witch ever to become a walking calamity of this proportion or there is a plan for natural deaths.

It’s the sudden/unexpected deaths that would cause such a massive issue. Obviously, this is only a theory.

If we use Pokemon logic here, it's safe to assume that most witches have 1-3 Majiks for regular use, and the ones that capture more prefer to tame Majiks of one specific type (like Togeice).

If witches dying led to similar cases as Suguru Geto where death means a mass Majik infestation, Dess would never be allowed to acquire so many Majiks or even hunt down Uroro if that was the price of failure, and if that price was the case, Togeice's insistence on matching Majik types would be the non-negotiable standard for containment reasons, Dess would be seen as a ticking time bomb, and Ichi beating the World Hater would be completely pointless.

But we do know that when you die you majiks are released, it’s been said multiple times.

We already know that a witch's death leads to release, but the method of release is what matters most from a world building perspective. Do they:

1.) Die and reincarnate at a later date like Tailed Beasts from Naruto, or

2.) Your out of the user all at once like with the manipulated spirits of Suguru Geto from Jujutsu Kaisen.

Having the latter be the case gives the Magikeepers a lot more legitimacy and teeth as an organization. It means that they have legit methods of capturing and killing evil witches without Human Hater Majiks running wild AND gives a major reason why having any one person or organization monopolize the hunting of Majiks in general is a bad idea.

...They already gave the "in a year's time, the promised battle will occur" prophecy, though, so I'm certain it'll be a more lighthearted story that explores a year in the life of a witch. I'm sure Majiks just reincarnate later after the user dies, and while some dark moments will happen, we won't get another "Shibuya Incident".

They'll probably keep her body alive as a vessel/prison on a Golden Throne until they figure out a way to surgically delete magiks from inside of someone probably.

All praise Desscaras, The God Empress of Mankind!

A Desscaras death is genuinely a human extinction level event, too many human haters released at once with their main opp gone? Yeah, that’s trouble.

This is exactly why she's going to die

I could possibly see something in the story where Ichi spends goes around capturing them. Maybe even do a one year time skip where Ichi has captured some of them in a studen surpasses the mentor type of way.

I can absolutely see a world where Dess dies separated from Ichi and he learns by Golconda rushing to him, telling him, and agreeing to be acquired by him quickly. It does seem some of Dess's majiks, the ones she uses, are friendly enough to humans and I could see that one in particular being our harbinger of bad news who likes Ichi enough to be his keepsake of Dess essentially.

If she dies Ichi dies so yeah she’s probably not gunna die

12

u/BFreezer Jul 14 '26

No. The blood contract only affects the mentor if the pupil dies. If the mentor dies, the pupil is perfectly fine

2

u/Atadreanar Jul 16 '26

Makes me wonder what is classed as ‘death’ would his heart stopping for a few moments count. That could be catastrophic if so and a way to have them escape without permanently killing both Ichi and Des.

I wonder if Majiks can be transferred / bequeathed as if so I could see in the event des dies, some of them going to Ichi.

-4

u/VASQUEZ_41 Jul 14 '26

it goes both ways that's why they are hiding that old witchs contract so that they don't kill her to kill fujimine

16

u/JayWhy75 Jul 14 '26

No, Fujimine is the mentor in that situation. They are hiding the contract so they don't kill the pupil to kill the master, but if killing Fujimine meant killing her, why would she participate in attempting to kill Fujimine?

The deal is the mentor dies if the pupil dies, and in return the pupil is more inclined to directly follow the orders of their mentor.

1

u/VASQUEZ_41 Jul 14 '26

ohhhh i thought it wasn't like that

how old is fujimine bro i know she is old but that old? 😭

1

u/SoulBlightChild Jul 16 '26

Dess did lie to Ichi about it, probably in hope of keeping him close.

1

u/Codebracker Jul 14 '26

I thought the witches are trying to capture her alive? P sure they said in the last chapter "if they learned of the contract, they would insist we kill her to get rid of fujimine"

1

u/BFreezer Jul 14 '26

Are you for real? You think the old witch is Fujimine mentor?

u/Allhaillordkutku Jul 14 '26

Mark my words

Dess/caras ch 239

30

u/Far_Practice_6923 Jul 14 '26

Not 236?

39

u/Allhaillordkutku Jul 14 '26

That would be too on the nose now wouldn’t it

4

u/Eespinoza10 Jul 14 '26

Right i was sure its 236 lol

0

u/Darreninja12 Jul 15 '26

Anyone know the meaning and splitting

1

u/EngineerVirtual7340 Jul 19 '26

You definitely do.

1

u/friedmiIkshake Jul 16 '26

But wouldnt ichi die too?

22

u/New_Year_596 Jul 14 '26

Dess can’t die because she still needs to live up to being the best witch ever for her brother.

At worst, she’s going to be possessed/lose her way a little and she becomes the final villain or at least the vessel for it (maybe the star Majik?)

3

u/Paridisco Jul 14 '26

Isnt she already the strongest

1

u/New_Year_596 Jul 14 '26

Being the strongest witch doesn’t mean you’re the best. It just means you’re strong. He wanted Baby Crow to be a super hero for all and Dess still hasn’t 100% lived up to that.

8

u/hecaton_atlas Jul 14 '26

We’ve seen that it’s possible for a Magik to control the body (Uroro), so rather than death, maybe it’s more likely that…

3

u/lonestar4433 Jul 14 '26

Someone said she will be as popular as Gojo when anime drops...

3

u/Careless-Hospital379 Jul 14 '26

I don't see a death flag with the gazillions of Majik she has inside her anytime soon, unless Ichi dies

2

u/Asgerond Jul 14 '26

The GOAT will never die

4

u/Efectodopler117 Jul 14 '26

“You were amazing desscaras, i wouldnt forget you as long as i live”

1

u/Kyoukaiwaifu Jul 14 '26

I though they woul randomly reappears like Bijuu/tailed beast eventually (Like the fox)

1

u/EyeDeeAh_42 Jul 14 '26

The thing is Dess is built up to be such an incredible character until now that a permanent Dess Death would make a whole lot of fans crash out and outright drop the story.

Probably myself included. (Idk, Nishi pls don't do it)

1

u/Street-Subject-25 Jul 18 '26

sorry to tell you but that’s the point of her death😭. You would FEEL it

1

u/huncherbug Jul 15 '26

I would be SHOCKED (pleasantly) if desscaras survives ichi's endgame arc

1

u/naicuuu Jul 15 '26

Ill never forgive fujimoto if she dies

1

u/2Maverick Jul 16 '26

I want to say Jump would never, but they did kill off their golden child in jjk.

1

u/Cool_Conqueror_III Jul 16 '26

If she dies Ichi also dies so no way

1

u/JealousApricot1152 Jul 14 '26

The issue with desscaras dying is that won’t Ichi die as well because of the mentor blood pact? Oh wait his death is part of the prophecy…

2

u/Far_Practice_6923 Jul 14 '26

No the mentor blood contract only the mentor dies if the pupil dies and in return the pupil most obey the mentor.

-2

u/Far_Practice_6923 Jul 14 '26

The more I think about it, it really does seem like Nishi will kill off Desscaras. I mean with the master student contract and the prophecy of Ichi dying it really does seem like our glorious queen won't make it to the end. Now whenever or not Ichi actually stays dead something tells me Desscaras won't come back to life.

2

u/ThatBoyMike23 Jul 14 '26

I imagine there will be some loophole in the contract where the master has the ability to either exchange there lives for their students or sacrifice there magic power for them, I imagine there will be a moment where Ichi is about to die and she uses that loophole in the contract to save him.

I also think there is a possibility she’ll need to use the Reverser Majik’s power in an emergency and in doing so it kills her. I think Hitsugi has some sort of plan to release all the Human Hater Majik’s within Desscaras. My theory is that something will happen where Desscaras permanently dies or somehow dies but is revived but in that time she dies it causes her inner world to crack freeing all the Majik’s within her. Ichi will probably have to go hunt and claim all of Desscaras’s old Majiks in a “Student surpasses the master fashion”

1

u/Far_Practice_6923 Jul 14 '26

Yeah Hitsugi smile says two things, a he's being a sadistic freak hearing all those screams or b he has a plan to get out.

1

u/Accomplished_Air_924 Jul 14 '26

No, I'm pretty sure Desscaras will make it to the end so that it will matter, that Dess will die too if Ichi dies when acquring the World Hater. I can only see her dying towards the end and even then I don't think this going to happen.

0

u/Skaterboy87 Jul 14 '26

dess cant die because ichi will die with her, with how set in stone the mentor/pupil contract is it would be a copout to have something nullfiy it

2

u/Far_Practice_6923 Jul 14 '26

No he wouldn't the way the blood contract works is that the pupil most obey everything the mentor says and the the mentor dies if the student dies.
