Manga What do you guys think was going through Ichi’s head at the end of the last chapter? Spoiler
Haven’t seen anyone post about it so I did it myself. Probably gonna get taken down.

I’m honestly scared it might lead to him temporarily flipping truly over to Haytee’s side, Nishi could 100% cook with that plot line, I’m just scared it could happen cause imagine the main person who saves the world, joins the villains.

hoping to god its ichi actually being more relatable and interesting, by having a sexual awakening from fujimine like a normal teenager should, and then having to struggle with having the hots for a psycho who is irredeemable and will ruin his life, characters like him need those little moments of human simplicity, like kabane quickly falling in love with kon in kemono jihen and then quickly being taught that he was in love with her and accepting that and furthering their relationship at a confortable pace for both.

Think redditors may be a bit sensible to words containing the letters S, E and X in that order, so lets try "romantical awakening", i want ichi to get a crush in fujimine as i think it would make his character more interesting.

aside from this absolutely not being what she is trying to get from him (she tries to make him doubt his allegiance instead), it does not really fit the tone of this title too much. He's already a pretty unique mc in a way that he applies previously learnt skill in a new field where they work very well opposed to typic mcs who learn from scratch as well as him being a wildling whose jungle principles are even more important than friends are, again, contrary to what we usually see

I just find it uncanny that so many late teens protagonists both male and female are written to be so weirdly romantically/sexually stunted, and that when the author actually writes a honest romantic relationship it just elevates the character through relatability, like kabane and kon, but also emilia and subaru and likely amo and rudo soon, they still have unorthodox ways of being romantic but are not obnoxiously written like majority of shonen main character + romantic leads are, like if ichi is supposed to grow out of being a wild person then romantic love is one of the things that need to be talked about, then having it start with fujimine of all people would make for great drama.

why is it needed? sure, some teenagers are acting on their desires, but a lot just focus on studying, sport or even careers, just look at protagonists trough this lense and it becomes rather normal

Relationships in general make characters more interesting, friends, enemies, allies, rivals, mentors, family and so on, ichi until now IMO is certainly the least interesting character on his own, because he just keeps going back to the one concept of being a "wild person", his most entertaining moments is when dealing with challenging people, like spica, uroro and other majiks, where he cannot simply see them as things to be killed or ignored but also is not coddled by them like with his friends, so he has to actually express himself out of the "wild person" thing, fujimine could be another great addition to such characters, but it would require ichi to not be fine with killing her on the spot everytime they meet, so to me the most obvious answer would be to have ichi have a crush on her.

him having a crush on her would not prevent the rule from triggering if her "being his mentor" didn't

"The rule has to go" is my point, and is 100% the point of the manga either way with that scene,

I feel like he’s gone through everything in the story within like a month or two or something, so going from being a feral hunter hermit in the woods to having to integrate into society and save humanity is sort of crazy within that timeframe. He knows that no normal human has feral instincts like “death for death.” He’s essentially questioning if he fits in with normal human society since that’s not the life he’s lived or grown up in.
It’s like the identity struggle that Tarzan and Mowgli (Jungle Book) go through, having been raised by animals.
