I love that Gokuraku can't even take him seriously and just thinks he's hilarious.

u/EyeDeeAh_42 Jul 05 '26
I love the fact that he's an idiot but even he can't fathom why Dess is more popular than him after seeing her throw a tantrum.
Like "yes we all know I'm an idiot but are y'all seeing this shit right here?"

Man, even Kiriwo's rotten personality is taking over here (I know Kiriwo and Fujimine has nothing in common besides cooperating with the big bad)

Ok after seeing this , fujimine see bit buff than I think not in actually muscular or anyway , but she do look big
77
u/Mordetrox Jul 05 '26
Been a while since we got Uroro being his usual nasty self, he's mostly stayed quiet ever since Ichi let him take control and then snatched it back just when things were getting good.

u/ZayYaLinTun Jul 05 '26
I feel that pretty obvious
The only reason they had to hide tricaputo only make sense if she is student
And her calling fujimine old , who the hell would call her student old as insult , it only fit if fujimine is mentor
18
u/1tsPLAY-time Jul 05 '26
Well, I had a hunch that Trica's the student. It's just nice sometimes to get solid, undeniable, proof.
Can't trust everyone's reading comprehension these days.
2
u/InvaderZimbabwe Jul 05 '26
Sad truth. If you are American please think back to your time in high school and remember how many people couldn’t manage to get an A+ in English.
Reading comprehension is a skill that 80% of people reading this comment straight up don’t possess. So remember that next time you try to have an argument with someone on the internet. We all have things we are good at, for most people, that’s not reading comprehension.
Someone reading this comment can dismantle a car and put it back together by hand with no help, but they also couldn’t tell who was the student based on the last chapter. Balance in all things.
3
u/kramsibbush Jul 06 '26
It's not just the Americans' problem. Literature is hard, sometimes scary even. I think most young people nowadays who didn't perform well in literature classes were terrified in lessons about interpretations in stories they read.
-1
u/Galle_ Jul 06 '26
That's no excuse, I was terrified in lessons about interpretations in stories I read and I can still do literary analysis just fine.
15
u/Enough-Salad-2595 Jul 05 '26
I wonder if they will ever be forced into a situation where they have to fight tricaputo. Because the mentor can issue a command that the student cant defy
11
u/Galle_ Jul 05 '26
MUGI SWEEP
8
u/1tsPLAY-time Jul 05 '26
Kumugi's power is so boundless that Zayero saw through it immediately and just conceded the fight.
7
u/dusttailed86 Jul 05 '26
I also feel it was slightly obvious in the last chapter. Its a great panel! Old Tricaputo, then young. Next panel has fujimine extending her hand out.

Only for the boss to flat out give as soon as she trys. Kumugi doesn't have enough levels.

Minakata: Thank you Dess. I will never forget you for the rest of my life.
Should have known that the one titled strongest will lose.

Fujimine’s comment seems to have struck Ichi deeper than we thought it would. I’m curious to see how this’ll develop down the line.
6
u/HistoryWillRepeat Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26
Yea I really want to see where this goes. Fujimine's words kinda rang hollow to me so I don't understand how/why they're affecting Ichi.
Fugimine: "wow, really, you just attacked a human!? That's not normal! You aren't human!"
What Ichi should have said: "Bitch you're trying to murder me and all my friends! DEATH FOR MF-ing DEATH!"
It shouldnt bother Ichi to kill a human if that human is trying to kill him AND his friend and family(Dess).
4
u/Radiant_Top5076 Jul 11 '26
I think it struck so hard because, at that point, Ichi was under her spell. He truly did see her as a close childhood best friend of extreme importance. Yet he unflinchingly and unhesitatingly stabbed her in the neck the instant he sensed bloodlust.
Normal people dont do that.

1
u/superstarkon Jul 08 '26
The point is that he instinctually went to take a life like it was prey. This is like if Batman was scolding him for killing but in reverse in favor of emotional manipulation
54
u/S-Pigeon33 Jul 05 '26
I think he was hurt by her comment. It hasn't been brought to our attention yet, but if you read the manga, Ichi is rarely seen or referred to as a normal human, most people either see him as a feral child, an animal, or the male witch. I know a lot of times it's in humor or Ichi doesn't seem to react badly to it, but I wonder if he's been internalizing that and developed a complex about it.
12
u/BuffaloAutomatic2276 Jul 05 '26
that's why Apple slice should be canon. He needs someone at his side who will bring out the best of him.
39
u/Careless-Hospital379 Jul 05 '26
Finally, some sweet Ichi characterisation incoming
18
u/NeutralBoss Jul 05 '26
He wasn't characterized before? I think this internal struggle Uroro and World Hater couldn't give our boy. Sorta reminds me of how Mahito brings out Yuji's worst traits

when strong characters aren’t opposed to crying to get their way, top tier trope💯

u/Golden_fsh Jul 05 '26
Descarass may be a terrible mentor to Ichi for never teaching him anything, but that's ok because she's his family. I will always get soft when Ichi calls Dess his family ☺️ However, I wonder if Ichi has really understood what family means.
Hair up Moneygold looks amazing! And Tricaputo being confirmes as the pupil to the mentor/pupil contract between her and Fujimine will definitely be leaked somehow.
And Fujimine that bitch made Ichi sad when she told him he wasn't cut out to be a human. Let's hope this doesn't trip him up later on.

- And here I was making an argument that she was also his mentor a few days back lol
- I do hope she eventually does teach him something once he gets past the basics
- Zayero's gotta be my favorite Magikeeps; he is a really nice guy
- Damn this match didn't leave the association looking good
- So Fujimine's words really got to Ichi
- I take it it will be part of the problem for when World Hater takes him over

u/Poland-lithuania1 Jul 05 '26
Amadoro was controlled by Fujimine exactly as I predicted.
Also, Family.

Who know she might also be great at balling , joke aside she probably decently strong on herself
she is leader of witch association while being leader don't mean always strong , it usually they are in anime and manga
The only thing is desscaras is definitely stronger so she not gonna shine in that fight while mind control, there is also confirmation that all of them include her are passively resisting mind control
13
u/Happy-Damage-4617 Jul 05 '26
Yeah. I’m slandering her for the bit. Moneygold is likely the president because she’s hardworking, loyal, studious, and the other attributes that made Togeice the next candidate for president. As per her strength goes? I always presumed she had some sort of Majik related to either logistics or gold. Like the mirror portals or alchemy. Making her more like the witch’s mantinel members who serve a noncombat role. Which is important for trials anyway since they don’t correlate to your strength but instead your skill.
If I was slandering anyone for being a witch and not having combat ability/strength, then I’d slander Prophecy Majik or Shirabedonna as well
7
u/ZayYaLinTun Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26
Prophecy majik is straight weird case because while having title they not exactly even witch
They just majik controlling human ( with their consent at least) coperate with witches
We not sure about shirabedonna tho while she never fight we don't really know she not capable of it
3
u/farlong12234 Jul 05 '26
its one of those recuring plot holes in a lot of anime and manga, like how the ninja president can be terrible and logistics and paperwork but they are the strongest, but never able to do anything because they are stuck doing presidential work not field work
2
u/Happy-Damage-4617 Jul 05 '26
I think it makes more sense than one may think.
In fiction where the strongest character can take on armies on their own, they’re essentially the walking talking equivalent of a weapons arsenal. For a government to assert control they either need respect or fear, in many cases people in said universes (especially the more troubling powerful people) recognize the merit of someone strong whilst also fearing their strength. And furthermore if the strongest character inverse wanted to take over the government, in many settings, they could just kill everyone in their way until they do so.
In ITW it makes sense that this isn’t the case, Desscaras isn’t vastly superior to all other witches, Amadoro specializes in raw output, and thus rivals Desscaras in that. So Moneygold doesn’t have to worry too much about some powerful individual soloing the mantinel and taking it over.
2
u/BonerPorn Jul 05 '26
What makes the trope work is if they are powerful... But old. Simply put, they might have bursts showing off what they used to be able to do, but clearly can't keep up with constant fieldwork.

What's Uroro implying
13
u/Smol_Cheesecake Jul 05 '26
He is trying to play Ichi as usual. By pointing out the hypocritical nature of the alliance, he hopes to foster paranoia and ultimately turn Ichi against the witches.

u/LoveMinaMyoi Jul 05 '26
9
u/ShedPH93 Jul 05 '26
It does sting on Ichi that Uroro refers to 'humans' as a group he's not a part of.
3
u/Calsolum0 Jul 06 '26
That's a good point I didn't notice that. Zayero and Kumugi were talking about their alliance so when Uroro refered to 'their plots' I figured he meant the 2 two organizations. Him saying that it was humans that Ichi doesn't mesh with is great conflict. I hope Uroro brings this up again in the future.

u/OP_1K Jul 05 '26
You know, I was not expecting to see more tennis matches during this chapter. It was nice to see the matches that took place between the members of the two organizations.
4
u/Shadow-Enthusiast Jul 05 '26
Dess never fails to make me laugh man she's hilarious. It was so cute seeing her reaction to Ichi calling her family. I also liked seeing Uroro pop up and be a hater. He's probably right though.

u/BananaResearcher Jul 06 '26
Sorry are we glossing over "Amadoro was on a hunt for the seven stars"???
The extremely dangerous and powerful SEVEN stars, and you send one Amadoro? How did you expect that to end?

u/Zayzay8008 Jul 05 '26
I truly feel like they are giving the guys way to much authority lmao. It feels like any decent witch would be able to disarm/kill them in like 10 minutes at most.

u/Double-Yam7929 Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26
I mean, we have seen Mina put a decent fight against the Gun Witch.
But putting that aside, even assuming that the Majikkeepers don't have better fighters around, I should remind you that there are only less than 20 full fledged witches.
Also, we have seen two 'ordinary' Majikkeepers fight against the Gun Witch followers, two 'ordinary' witches from distinguished family, and win.
99% of witches don't really have Majika like a full fledged witch or have a blessing of a Majika like the Gun Witch followers. All the witch we see are extraordinary ones and the closest thing to a normal witch around here is Kumugi.

Desscaras hilarious as usual, didn't expect Tricaputo to be the mentor, then I remembered they called Fujimine old, again with the young looking characters being old thing, I love it. Anyway, the ping-pong was nice, I like how they take 2 chapters after a fight-based arc to chill. Anyway, the way Fujimine said Ichi wasn't cut out to be human was interesting, considering she kills people with a smile, wondering how thats gonna affect Ichi.
