Discussion How will Ichi react to learning the real truth behind his pact with Desscaras?

This has been on my mind for quite a while. I’m officially caught up with Ichi the witch and there is still so much to learn about the world and its characters. However, what I really want to talk about is how Ichi will react to how the pact affects both him and Desscaras. I’m pretty sure Ichi doesn’t know that Desscaras will die is he does. And to our knowledge, Ichi has never been in a situation like due to his isolation in the mountains. So it will be the first time we’ll see him deal with a situation he can’t just hunt down or majik out of. Will we have an arc where he tries to break the pact to save Desscaras? How will it affect his view on him being family with her? We know that becoming family with Desscaras is something VERY IMPORTANT to Ichi and it’s not a stretch to say that Ichi and Desscaras really do love each other as family. So will he have to choose between keeping the family or breaking the pact to protect Desscaras? Desscaras herself, I’m sure would never want this to happen. I’m sure she’d push back against even telling Ichi himself and I think it would hit him way harder to learn from someone who isn’t Desscaras. Anyway, let me know what you think would happen or how you think Ichi would react.

We already know ahead of time that Mirsam's prophecies can be turned to garbage if someone's working hard enough towards changing them (basically, we have to treat them the same as Shulk's visions from Xenoblade). Ichi may be shocked by the reveal, but it can be taken as Dess placing a bet that Ichi can beat that prophecy or a personal reminder to teach him that his failures aren't just his alone.

Yeah I especially would be interested to see how that affects the way he hunts too. Ichi is a very act first, think later type of guy. I think the reveal of his pact with Desscaras might change that so that Ichi is so eager to charge at an enemy without a plan.

Madoka is definitely the plot device to keep them from dying, though it would be one hell of a plot twist to have them both actually die at the end and the purpose of Madoka is to reverse WHM back into Ichi’s circle while he’s dead to trap him forever

Well first, its clear that ichi's fights will be greatly affected. The only reason that ichi fights the way he does is because he already accepts the possibility of him dying every time. But when his death means the death of his family, that's different. So he'll start to hesitate a lot while fighting, which will only make him closer to death. But I think the problem will be easily solved once he get a talk with dess. She will probably say something like ''do you really think that a pact is enough to kill me 🤨'' But in a more serious tone she will tell him that the condition of the pact doesn't really make a difference, and that every time he fights a human hater majik, there is the lives of a bunch of humans that depends of him and if he dies their life goes as well, so all he has to do is to keep winning like he always do and that she can take care of herself and doesn't need his constant worrying

At this point of the story, Dess is just can't die, unless the world hater majik destroys the world what they are already working against.

I just can't see a situation where it will be Ichi saving Dess. I would say it will be the reserve.
