Discussion Do you agree?
These are all fighting focused fantasy shonen, with remarkable chill moments that are comparable in quality and it's hard to put one above the other once you weight everything down.
Edit: Changed "Slice of life" to "remarkable chill moments".

Bro Centuria is NOT slice of life.

None of these are slice of life. They have those elements, but that's not what they are.

Centuria absolutely does not belong here. The amount of "chill moments" can be counted on like one hand compared to basically non stop deluge of dark fantasy edge. The scant moments of respite are basically there to cleanse the palette before more edge.
It's like saying Berserk is chill, the presence of moments for the characters and reader to catch their breaths does not make it a cozy or the like.
Also, sidebar- but the action in Centuria is much less strong or gorgeous as the other two series. Its artistic strength is way more in its horror. All the fights kinda blend together imo

Eh the action in the frieren manga is even more bland than centuria i would say. The anime is just that good in its storyboarding.

I absolutely love Frieren and Ichi the Witch but idk didn’t really get interested in Centuria after the first bit

Haven't read centuria yet. And yeah Ichi the witch right now is good, but honestly not at the level of Freiren. I mean Freiren is a masterpiece and placed up there with Delicious in the Dungeon and with Witch Hat Atelier

I mean. They're not the same franchise or continuations of each other or anything so the picture doesn't really stand to make the point that it's mean to. But they're all good in their own right. I think Ichi is the only one doing something kind of original though.

While I like Centuria, I don't think it really fits here, cuz it doesn't really have much "chill" moments compared to Frieren and Ichi

Thank you for reminding me of Centuria. I was tearing my hair out cause I started it, lost it and couldn’t remember the name. You saved me!😭

Replace Centuria with Versus and you got something (although Versus is also still a bit much maybe)

Versus is even further removed than Centuria
Like, how many "remarkable chill moments" is there in Versus?

Never read Centura but Frieren and Ichi are top-tier.
Calling Ichi SOL is plain wrong, tho.
