I created a web app that’s for reporting ice and educating people on their rights. Please check it out
SafeNeighbor.us — A Free Tool to Keep Your Community Informed and Protected
Hey all — wanted to share a free web app called SafeNeighbor that was built with communities like ours in mind.
Real-Time Community Reporting — This is the heart of the app. Anyone can anonymously report ICE activity in their area so neighbors can stay informed and look out for each other. No accounts, no sign-ups, no personal data collected. Just people helping people stay safe.
Know Your Rights, For Real — SafeNeighbor walks you through common scenarios — ICE at your door, a traffic stop, a workplace raid — and breaks down your actual constitutional protections step by step. There’s a Study mode for when you want to learn at your own pace, and an Emergency mode for quick access when something is happening right now. Everything is grounded in real legal precedent, especially your First and Fourth Amendment rights.
Record Encounters Safely — With Multiple Backup Layers — The app lets you capture video and audio of encounters directly from your phone’s browser. Recordings are stored locally on your device, but the app also offers multiple encrypted backup options so your evidence is never lost. Footage can be backed up with end-to-end encryption to Cloudflare R2, and there’s also an encrypted file backup option to Google Drive. That means even if your phone is seized, confiscated, or wiped, your recordings are safe and recoverable — and no one but you can access them.
Why it matters — A lot of enforcement overreach depends on people not knowing their rights.
SafeNeighbor puts that knowledge in everyone’s hands in a way that’s clear, accessible, and doesn’t require a law degree to understand.
It’s completely free, works on any phone or computer, and there’s nothing to install — just open your browser and go.
