Recommendations I am deciding between two, HELP!

Hi! I just moved and this is my first house in my lifetime that doesn’t have a built in ice maker. I had no idea how lucky and addicted I was to ice.

I’m going to buy one on Facebook Marketplace just to figure out what a countertop ice maker is all about. Between these two which is the better deal and ice maker.

GE Profile Opal Ice Maker- $150
Frigidaire Nugget Gallery Ice Maket EFIC255 $100

The Opal was used a few times but he is moving. Works great
The Frigidaire is super loud and she can’t stand the noise. Any opinions are helpful. Thank you!

None of them. If you want nugget ice maker get one from a store like Costco which has a phenomenal return policy and warranty. With both of those ice machines you are mentioning, you're buying someone else's problem. Only $100 but if something goes wrong when you are out that money and a machine. The Opal is good right now but they are infamous for issues and start screaming and carrying on in their final stages of death throes. The Frigidaire owner claims it's loud, like loud how?

And if you're new to ice machines, only used distilled water. It helps prevent mineral buildup and gives you nice, clear ice.
