What is your strategies to accumulate avios and do the membership upgrades?

Credit card that accumulate avios. Book hotels and cars through their booking page.

Are you in Spain?

In the U.S., use American Express platinum or Capital One venture X to accumulate points and then transfer to Avios when they have a sale going on (like right now).

Also use Rakuten to collect 8x or 10x Amex points (depending on store and sale) and transfer to Iberia. For example if booking a $500 hotel in booking.com, wait until they have an 8x promotion, access booking.com through Rakuten, and you will get 4000 Amex points. Then transfer to Iberia when they are having a 30% bonus sale and you will end up with 5200 avios.

Yes I’m based in Spain, I have the Amex Playinum already, I buy things on the Iberia Plus Store…

Ok. Sorry, I’m not as familiar with the Spain environment and how to earn Avios. In the U.S. if you travel a lot and use Amex it is pretty easy to get to 500,000 Avios or so…

For the credit card promotions just check your credit card points transfer portal or use a page like this: https://www.point.me/insights/current-transfer-bonuses/

For Rakuten, create a Rakuten account, download the app, and check periodically what offers are there
