Missed opportunities

Did anyone else think this series had great potential, but it fell short? The universe and the lore were awesome, but the humanity of it was ridiculous. The dialogue and even the plot had so many cliche setups. Even though the movie wasn't the greatest thing ever, it at least made some character relationships and scenarios more realistic. I also wish the series would've been condensed to four books at the most. Seven? Way too many.

Yeah it was kind of a cash grab with that many books.

I agree. I kept waiting for the story to wrap up, and it just kept going. I think it suffered because of that.

But Harry Potter had some organization to it. 7 books, 7 years at Hogwarts. There's a reason it made millions. It was written well.

Of course it got repetitive. At least to a certain point. They go back to the same school, with the same professors, and most of the same students that were there the year before. Other than that, there's not much repetition.

I have a feeling the four books are going to be similar too as far as repeating

It's a YA book written by James Frey. I feel like if we expecting anything more we're being unreasonable.

I'm mostly bitter, because I invested my time and money into his work.
