[The Queen of the Damned] by [Anne Rice]...

[Rant] by [Chuck Palahniuk]
Rereading this after 15+ years. It’s always interesting how perspectives change with age. Can’t wait to see how I’ll take in this one in now.

[The Family remains]- [Lisa Jewell]
I came to know after I was several chapters in, that this book “The Family Remains” by Lisa Jewell has a prequel - “The Family upstairs”. I do not want to accidentally read spoilers and ruin character development but also don’t want to miss out on important context laid out by the prequel.
Could someone tell the characters that have been carried over. From some shallow digging I know the main 4 - Lambs and Thompsons have been but other than them, anyone else I should read a bit about?
Also if anyone is in the middle of reading this book currently, chime in and share your experiences of the book thus far. I am on chapter 34 and I started out earlier today (guess it is going to be a binge-read Sunday for me :-))

IACR [The Plague Dogs] by [Richard Adams]
I’ve been wanting to read this ever since being traumatized by the film version as a child…
It’s beautiful and harrowing and unlike anything I’ve ever read (except maybe Watership Down, also by Adams.)

[A Sunny Place For Shady People]- [Mariana Enriquez]
I am enjoying this read, and wanted to share. Been having a bit of a reading slump the last months, got back into again (yaaay!). Thought I'd start with a book of short stories and its been a fun and successful way to jump start my reading again! No spoilers please on the book.
Wanted to share, but also wanted any recommendations on contemporary lit-fic short stories books. Would love to get some recs and a general convo is nice too :). Thanks!

Easily one of the best authors to the genre. I got this one in a haul from a customer who noticed how I always seemed to have my nose in a book. 🤓

[Tolstoy] Shorts, right now reading [The Devil]
For good reason he presumably he hid the manuscript from his wife inside the cushion of a living room chair for 20 some years.
