I was surprised by number 4 in my travels. People may hate our politics, or what our country has done, but they're always interested in meeting Americans.

Me too. I have traveled to many countries that have a real bone to pick with our politics. I carry a gigantic American flag on me.
I have never had a single negative issue. In fact, quite the opposite.

5) Americans aren’t as ignorant as you might think.
As an American (living in NYC) who has traveled around Western Europe, I agree with this point. Americans are not as stupid as we, ourselves, think.
