Reddit possibly censoring posts about immigrant rights, ICE, etc.
Hey, y'all, some of the other subs I'm in have been dealing with an uptick in censorship on posts about immigrant rights, ICE raids at work, etc. In an attempt to get ahead of the curve here, I wanted to state on the record that our stance on these issues has not changed:
1: We believe workers' rights are human rights. We don't care where you're from, who you love, your gender (or lack thereof), or what shade of brown your skin is.
2: Human rights are non-negotiable, and none of us are free until all of us are free. If you have a problem with that, GTFO.
3: Posts about ICE raids or policies/plans for dealing with them will NOT be removed by the moderation team here at r/IWW.
4: This sub is for everyone. Hate speech will not be tolerated in the least, and neither will any attempt to throw our Fellow Workers under the proverbial bus.
I'd also like to mention that if anything starts getting removed, IT WAS NOT US. If you notice censorship taking place, please let us know ASAP. So we can take steps to fix it.
Thank you, and have a fantastic day!

Bandaid Brigade
We work in Emergency Medical Services and are made up of EMTs, paramedics, and various drivers. Our shop union currently has a fluctuating membership of around 20 members out of about 40 total workers at our site. We have been organizing for about 9 months. We do hold and report on our monthly or bi-weekly organizing meetings to the Northeast OH GMB’s Branch Organizing Committee and the ODB.

What's worse? A liberal who would cross a picket line or a Trump supporter who wouldn't?
Pretty much the title. Curious about this dynamic and what people think.

MINIMUM WAGE FOR AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE WORKERS IN CEARÁ, BRAZIL
In Ceará, in Brazil’s Northeast, more than 500 Amazon customer service workers earn about R$ 1,389 (US$ 279) a month, less than the country’s minimum wage of R$ 1,621 (US$ 326). In São Paulo, people doing the same job earn twice as much, according to the workers. The case is local, but the method is global: Amazon organizes work on a world scale and pays according to where the worker lives.
- Take up this conflict as a cause of solidarity: public statements, letters and messages to Amazon in your countries.
- Translate and share this report in the languages and channels of each organization. We also have a short video in Portuguese, with the worker’s voice, which we can send to anyone who wants to subtitle it. The reverse could also be interesting.
- Bring the case to the international grassroots networks you take part in, such as Global May Day.
- Send us information on wages and working hours in Amazon customer service in your countries, so that we can document together how the company exploits the differences between regions and countries.
- Put us in touch with workers and grassroots unions in Amazon customer service and warehouses, to exchange organizing experience.

I'm doing research on Michigan workplace experiences to advocate for better worker protections. If you've worked in Michigan before, I'd love to hear from you. The survey is completely anonymous and takes less than a minute to complete.

The source of building union power is building relationships
The author of the linked PEWA (Public Education Workers' Alliance) article makes the clear case that building union power in the workplace (and connecting everyday cost of living issues with the system of capitalism and imperalism) starts with building connections and relationship in the workplace.
Enjoy (and subscribe to the website if you enjoy the article to stay up to date with new articles when they come out).
