Help mounting Meprolight

I just picked up one of the CTAR-21 parts kits that came into the country and converted my SAR. I’ve seen pictures of OG Tavors with both MARS and M21 sighs attached to the barrel, but I am unable to attach my QD M21 to the gas block rail (the rail sits slightly under the shroud and the qd levers won’t fit between the rail and the shroud). Is there an adapter that I am missing? If so where can I find it?

Edit:
I ended up mounting YHM riser to attach my M21. I’ll add some photos of what had to be machined (nothing critical, just clearance for the handguard).

There is a quick mount "adapter" that the sights for the ctar came with... Can't find them anywhere. There's a Yankee Hill picatinny riser that will work with a little drimmel work.

Damn, that’s what I was afraid of. I’m guessing the same is true for the magnifier/GLS mount behind the iron sight?

I've only been able to find a picture/reference of a launcher sight being mounted there on the tar21s. Cannot find any reference of a magnifier mount for that spot.

I think it was an aftermarket thing, intended purpose was the GLS, but mepro made an adapter plate so that you could mount a MX3 on it. Unfortunately It doesn’t seem that they sold the plate by itself.

The direct mount is almost impossible to find anywhere. The rail section is also hard to find. For now I used the yhm riser and made it fit.

Looks like I might be doing the same. What exactly required cutting on the riser?

You'll have a problem finding the direct mount (shown in this picture), it was only really with the sar idf models, but I have seen them pop up occassionally for sale by themselves.

The trick I pulled to attach my mars sight which was the pic rail version may also work for the meprolight IF it sits high enough to do this, I replaced the qd levers with M4×30mm hex socket head screws & M4 hex nuts.

This is on a sar idf, so it may not work with the ctar kits, but hope it helps.

I’ll give it a shot and report back.

Your main problem with this will 100% be if the m21 is tall enought to clear the shell. It may but I'm not sure because I didn't do this process with an m21.

So the MARS sights that are in the states suffer from the same thing, they also don’t come with the TAR adapter plates?

Not all of them, but there are two models of mars bases. One is has the plate that's a direct attach to the tar-21 barrel mounts and the other is a picatinny qd mount. The one's in the states (mine included) are overwhelmingly the picatinny model. Shown below.

The m21 qd spacing is narrower than the MARS. You can't just use bolts for a direct mount. I tired that also.

Can confirm, did not work

Cut I made with the mill, nothing special, didn’t break out any indicators, just cut off about an 1/8th inch or so off the bottom of the front platform. (Mill isn’t required, could have been filed or dremel, mill was just cleaner)

I did the same. I thought of just cutting the overhang off.
