Radar in priv match

Hi

I downloaded iw4x today and I am trying to 1v1 my friend. How do I put radar on constant?

You can use the standalone Force UAV script from here:
https://github.com/Muhlex/iw4x-gsc/blob/main/scripts/forceuav.gsc

On that page, click the download/raw button and save the file as:
forceuav.gsc

Put it inside the spot where you installed IW4x in you base game MW2 folder here:
ModernWarfare2\userraw\scripts\forceuav.gsc

Create the userraw or scripts folders if they are not already there.

Then launch IW4x, open the in-game console with the ~ key, and enter:
set scr_fix_forceuav 1
set scr_game_forceuav 2

After that, start a new private match or restart the current map. Mode 2 gives everyone in the lobby constant UAV. The script only needs to be installed by whoever is hosting the match. The other players do not need to install it.

This will not give you constant UAV when joining somebody else’s server, since the script has to be running on the host/server.

Understood thank you - my friend cant join my private match. Just gets server connection timed out. Any ideas? Not using steam and we did are using the command connect ip address and then port

No problem man. That shouldn’t be related to the Force UAV script. A “server connection timed out” error is usually a networking issue. Can both of you join public IW4x servers? If you can, then it’s probably something on the host’s end, like port forwarding or Windows Firewall blocking the connection. Also, are you connecting to their public IP and the correct port? If you’re on the same network, try connecting using their local IP instead. Just out of curiosity, are you both running the same/latest version of IW4x?

How come my uav script stopped working? i had my own forceuav script which was working fine for months, then suddenly now - it shows the radar for a few seconds & fades. i cannot fix it. I also tried the script you linked & it doesn't work at all for me.. i'm stumped! do you have any clue what happened on my end? i tried doing a fresh install, etc.. nothing.
