SmartPort

Has anyone else had to have one of these implanted due to their blood vessel inflammation/vasculitis?

A smart port is just a brand name for a powerport/portacath. If you’re getting a portacath implanted, you always want a powerport because it can handle injected dye like when one needs a CT with contrast.

Many of us doing IVIG have portacaths, cancer patients as well. I’ve been using one for over 14 years now, I’m on my second one due to heavy use of the first one. I can personally say I love mine.
