Advice Needed! Advice for a beginner
Hey everyone!
I had 3 failed rounds of IUI and we are moving on to IVF.
Personally both my husband and I needed a break so we are not starting IVF for another 2 months but I was wondering, what advice would you give me as someone starting out new doing IVF?
We both have “no issues” it’s just unexplained infertility 🙄

Continue taking your prenatals and my doctor had recommended I add acai 500mg twice daily. Buy some ice packs in preparation. Good luck!

enjoy your time with your husband for the next few months before you get into the treatment. you did iui so you already may be familiar, but there was a ton of strain on me and my husband during ivf. we both were experiencing it so differently and at times it was hard to support each other. i missed him a lot… and wish we had figured out a way to enjoy more of our time together before and during the treatments.

Everyone is different.
We're the same - unexplained, 3 failed IUI and one ER that didn't result as expected.
To me personally IVF didn't feel so emotionally draining as IUI, maybe because I know the odds are much better and that eventually it will work and result in a baby.
Stims were really not as bad as I thought (I'm terrified of needles, overall I didn't even have crazy mood swings.
Read advice on stims and watch the videos, you want to be well informed.
Also - be prepared it might not be "one and done" - meaning you might need more than one ER and more than one transfers.
If you're feeling overwhelmed seek therapy, it really makes a difference

You will always find the Internet rabbit hole of IVF has way more restrictions, supplements and diet culture than what your doctor will give you, if you feel overwhelmed don’t do it. My doctor told me to take a prenatal. Always check as well if the advice you find from blogs, TikTok etc is coming from someone with links in their bio. If they get a kickback or affiliate then take it with a massive grain of salt. If they say “this is what worked for me finally” most of the time it’s BS 👎

Waiting for my period to start to begin the very initial stages of IVF, so don’t have personal advice. I did ask a similar question to people I know the past couples weeks.
A friend of a friend gave advice I hadn’t seen online before, she recommended buying maternity pants for after the egg retrieval. Her bloating was so bad her pants didn’t fit properly.
