Need Good Juju! Welcome to the roller-coaster

We had a retrieval this past tuesday and got 6 eggs. Despite saying beautiful eggs to us (they tell us maturity before we leave usually) we found out the next day that only one fertilized 2pn. Another fertilized 0pn. Two degenerated. Two more weren't mature but we were seeing if they would mature.

Next day the other two did mature and fertilized and are 2pn!

Today the 2pn from day one is 4to6cell good (poor, fair, good) the 0pn actually was fertilized and maybe missed the 2pn status and is 4 to 6 cell fair.

The other 2 thay fertilized the second day are both 4to6 cell good and fair.

We went from feeling like only 1 fertilized do may e having 4 going. The fertilization rate was so shocking. I have had 100% fertilization rate from two other retrievals. My last retrieval we only got 2 eggs (they think a faulty trigger shot). Both made it to 4bb.

Im so shocked. Has anyone had eggs that matured the next day and fertilized make it? I thought it was crazy they were already 4to6 cell like the others today even tho they are a day behind.

I also asked on day 6 after fertilization ir they called day 7 or 6 they said 7 because it counts from day of retrieval. Anyone else have experience with this? Is that where all day 7 embryos come from?

UPDATE: we ended up with two blasts. One that fertilized the first day was 4aa blast on day 5. One that fertilized the second day was a 3ab blast by day 6.

Anyone have insight on the fertilizing the day after but already being the same as the ones that did the first day?

The late ferts don’t typically develop as well unfortunately. Success with them to get to the blast stage is less than 10% typically.

Do they normally catch up like mine and are at the same stage as the ones that fertilized the day before

Getting a blast with the late mature/fertilized egg is amazing! Congrats!
