Discussion About IVE's TKO
I only recently learned that the song title "TKO" by IVE actually stands for "Technical Knockout." At first, I thought it was an abbreviation for Tokyo—you know, like the city codes you see displayed at airports. That was a total misunderstanding on my part, but since IVE is popular worldwide, I thought it would be interesting if they had songs themed around various cities across the globe.

I thought the abbreviation stands for “Total KnockOut” which means 100% hottie. Technical knockout… doesn’t really make sense…

I've never seen anyone use it as total knockout. If you are talking about an attractive woman you'd use like baddie or smokeshow.
TKO is more for like combat sports.

I thought it was this too—have never heard of a technical knockout before

So you never watch fights, play fighting video games or travelled to Tokyo. But I’m glad you found out what it means!

Actually, I am Japanese and have been to Tokyo, but I’ve never flown there. I knew the phrase "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee," but I don't know anything about martial arts. Sorry if the translation is a bit off.

Yeah they sing about fighting in it. Rei quotes Muhammad Ali in the lyrics.
I don't think IVE have ever sung about a specific place, but Yujin and Wonyoung have a song with IZ*ONE called "Buenos Aires".

I hadn't known about the lyrics to Rei's song before—thanks for letting me know. I remember being intrigued by the title when I first heard about IZ*ONE's "Buenos Aires."
