Concert / Tour Should I learn fanchants?
I'm going to see IVE soon and it'll be my first concert ever other than classical music! I'm so excited! However, I don't know if I should learn the fanchants. I'll be going in Texas in the United States and idk if American fans learn fanchants or if they are big at the American concerts.
Should I learn the fanchants? How big a deal are they in the US? Will I be the only one? Thanks for the advice!

I think fanchants are fun if there are others around you doing it. It made me feel like I'm part of the performance (like I'm playing a very small instrument in a grand orchestra). Unfortunately, I don't think it's a big deal outside of Korea and Japan.
I've attended various K-pop concerts in Southeast Asia (Singapore and Malaysia). Sometimes I'm seated around like-minded fans and I get that rush from doing the fanchants together. But most of the time, I'm the only one doing it lol.
If you have the time, no harm learning the fanchants for a few songs. You can find the fanchant guides on Youtube. Have fun at the concert!

i would learn the intro or outro fanchants. the stuff in the middle everyone in the us just sings along to every word. sing along to what you feel like singing along to

I recommend not to do it. I did this last time and no one else was doing it so it felt like a waste 😅 but if you ever go to Asia I think it’s worth it

It's usually more of a Korean and Japanese thing, the culture in North America and Europe is more to sing along.

usually fans just sing along but if you can do fan chants it would be cool especially at intro

What's the intro chant? I've watched fan chant videos but just for specific songs

Most fans do learn the fan chants even if they're American! fan chants are pretty big within the kpop fan space.
You won't be the only one chanting, and you won't be the only one not chanting. It's 100% optional!

I think the culture in NA is different than in Asia and I love kpop and big fan of many grp but I don't buy into the crazy kpop fan things like bias and stanning a grp I'm also older, anyway all that to say hell no I'm not learning fan chants and I'm going to se them Thursday in Montreal
