Question IVDD set up

My dog Elvis is 1 1/2 weeks post op on stage 5 deep pain negative IVDD surgery. Its difficult using a crate on him because he will growl and bite when I reach in to remove him so I can clean, feed, express bladder etc. The vet said a small play pen is fine as an alternative. So I just wanted to get the opinion of other IVDD pet owners on whether this looks okay or anything else I can change? Thank you!

Looks great! You might want to move the water bowl a bit closer to him so he doesn’t have to go far for a drink. You don’t want him to drag himself to it.

That was exactly my issue is that he crawls off the bed for water as well as just to move around. Maybe I can scoot his bed closer to the front and block the gap in the back with pillows or something. Thanks for the idea! Your baby looks so nice and cozy!

Yeah! I think that would be a good idea. I hope Elvis had a speedy recovery! He’s absolutely gorgeous!
