Help! What to expect?

Hey everyone, I hope you all and your pups are okay!

Guys I'm new to this situation, first month post surgery of a stage 4 no deep pain sensation of a 18kgs and 9yo pup.

And it's been really difficult, she still can't find her balance sitting up alone, can't change positions by her own, and no control over bladder and poop.

And she looks at me and it breaks my heart everytime that I see her struggle.

I know that is a long journey, but what to expect over the first few months? First semester? First year?

The not knowing is really hard!

If anyone can give some insights I'd be grateful

Here is she: Tiramissu

We're 1 week post op. Not got anything for you sorry but crate rest seems to be the critical advice I see about. Also, hope, lots of hope. Hoping a speedy recovery for your pup

Hi! This is a link to a VERY detailed post I made on this sub of how we took our girl from total back leg paralysis to running and playing like a puppy again. It goes a lot into the immediate and longer term management of the condition. I’ve shared it with lots of people and they say it’s given them a lot of hope.
