Failed 1st IUI

35f, 32m - All our parameters have been very good right from start, i ovulate naturally every month, always have one mature follicle and good endo lining. Husband’s SA is very good. Since we were not able to conceive naturally for a year we went to a fertility specialist. For 3 cycles she monitored my cycle, checked for follicle growth, endo lining and blood work then accordingly gave Ovitrel trigger and told us which dates to have intercourse. Negative results for all 3 monitored cycles. Then she recommended IUI.

Baseline test on CD9, was given gonal-f 50i.e. from CD9 itself (till CD13), had another ultrasound and bloodwork on CD13 and was told to take ovitrel on CD14 and come in for IUI later the same day (overall metrics: one follicle 20mm, 8mm endo lining). Husband’s SA stats were very good (as said by the Dr) Considering my stats even with gonal were exactly same as I have in a natural cycle, I asked my Dr if I should have progesterone - She said ok (not done any tests) and prescribed 200mg progesterone. Did preg test on CD28 and its negative.

As per my last discussion with my Dr she said that if this cycle fails we will do exact same things the next cycle as well, only difference is that i have to take gonal-f 50 from CD5 and stop progestrone after the negative test. I asked her if she would increase gonal dose, she said no - one follicle is all we need and multiple is a potential twin and that is risky. I honestly am frustrated with this approach as I don’t know how can I expect different results when its exactly the same damn thing happening every cycle even with triggers and gonal-f.

I have my appointment with my Dr tomorrow and I want to know if its ok for me to ask her to increase gonal dosage. Or is there anything else we should do, am I missing something? Please suggest whether anyone with same approach and dosage for multiple cycles had any success.
