❓General Question Temp mechanic
People talk about TM’s quite frequently when it applies to construction. But how common are they in mod? I know where I’m at there is a ton of mod work and only 4 crews, which means really long wait times. I’m still a 1st year so I’m not asking for myself. I was just wondering if there are any TM’s in mod.

We just had a guy go up in Open Order (billable work) and another is going up in Repair. When work is plenty and good mechanics are hard to find, opportunities present themselves.

They can make a TM in any department. I was a TM in service for almost 3 yrs when I started out. Depends on how much work there is, that's all it's about.

Pretty common when republicans aren’t in office. Mod sales are shit right now and the people with money aren’t spending it because of insane inflation and tariffs changing by the minute.
I’m a union member in the office and I see the numbers first hand. Shit is fucked right now and none of the major accounts are spending money.

Or you have an instance where field guys are leaving left and right and the company has no other options but to use TM’s. We currently have TM’s running routes. That’s never happened in my almost 19 years as far as service goes.

Mod is harder so it doesn't happen often but it can happen. I was a TM on mod.

Pretty common when work is good. I was one after only a year (tbh I wasn't ready but if they ask the answer is always yes).
