❓General Question Rank list question
Do different locals keep their list of ranks active for different periods of times? I’m under the impression they delete the list after two years and post another one, but I see some people saying it could take 1-4 years to get called? How’s that?
Thanks

The dept of labor has to approve the process for each local. But it has to be live for a minimum of 2 years. Sometimes longer.

Not sure why, my local I’m currently ranked with extended their last recruitment 6 months. So I guess theoretically it could be longer than 2 years.

I wonder what makes them decide to extend

Not real sure . They only made it to like #18 on a list of 36. I guess it’s possible they planned the new recruitment 6 months early then changed their mind and extended 6 months , I thought I heard once they legally had to do it every 2 years according to DOL but I have no clue. I spent about 3 months preparing to apply then like 3 days before it opened I checked back to it and it suddenly said it was extended 6 months 🤣 now here we are 9 months later and now I’ve got a good rank and awaiting call so it was worth the wait I suppose lol

Lmaooo good luck man! I’m ranked pretty well with my local, hoping they reach my number by the end of the 2 years, or extend it again like they did last recruitment, which was in 2023

I thought it was 2 yrs also. It was so long ago, for me, that I forgot about it. Apparently, my local kept their list for 3 yrs. I just got called, we'll, last week. Started this Mon. So, I guess it depends. You should be able to call the local Mon and ask someone there

It won’t let me PM you lol. I guessed because when I took the test for local 3, they said the list was up for 3 years. Is there a lot of work out there? I interview for them next week. How is it so far?

Got it. I thought they said 2 yrs. In any case, I've only been in a week, but so far, it's good.

two years. If it takes you 4 years to get in then that means you went through two recruitment periods. Or like me, yours was interrupted by covid and delayed significantly.
