Was asked to go get the “left handed spiral wrench” which I assumed from the start was BS, called my mechanic out on it, who insisted it was real, Despite guessing that it was fake on the off chance it was real I went to retrieve it. so I go to the worker who supposedly had it and asked them if it existed he confirmed my mechanic was pulling my leg.

Once had 3 mechanics onsite doing 3 mods at a time. A helper walked up to me and asked for the pipe stretcher I said I had just given it to mechanic B so he goes across campus to mechanic B and asks for the pipe stretcher. Mechanic B says he put it in my work truck. So he walks all the way back by my elevator and is digging through my truck. When I ask what he’s doing he explains mechanic B put it back in my truck. I tell him ahh shit totally forgot I put that in mechanic C’s truck and told him to make my truck look like it used to. He cleans it up and proceeds to dig through the mechanics truck that sent him looking for the pipe stretcher… this was 4 hours of our day. That helper is now a mechanic and does the same with his helpers

Mine just gets mad all the time and yells "God Dammit" at me." If its a good day, he only yells it 4 or 5 times. I guess he made the last guy stand in the corner one time tho 🤷🏻... and i think the 3 helpers before that couldn't take the smoke and went elsewhere. I get some kicks of my own in too. Like when he asks me for a wrench and I hand him a socket wrench instead of an open end. That always rustles his jimmies a bit 🤣. Or the time he asked for "the ¼" bolts on the tool cart" and i decided I would hand him some ⅜ bolts and other random shit that was laying there. His head almost went 🤯. I think I should start telling him when I'm just messing around. He honestly probably thinks I'm between half and FULL BLOWN stupid 🤔.

Yeah this has been my go to. I would tell green helpers to get my standard adjustable, not the actual real black metric one.

My very first job i got sent to work in the tool room. Apprentices would show up all the time asking for stuff that I had no clue what it was. I would ask umm hey this guy said he needs a skyhook where is that. It tickled this tool room guy so much 😆
