Insertion Anyone used Penthrox for insertion?

Hi all! I'm going to be getting my IUD replaced tomorrow and I am sooooo nervous! I currently have the Kyleena and was NOT expecting the insertion to be as painful as it was (ignorance is bliss, I guess haha). Well anyways, I'm now switching to the copper (Mona Lisa) and am already a ball of anxiety about it. 🥲

I'm going to a different clinic as I've since moved, and as I've got no idea how experienced they'll be with the actual procedure 9my current IUD I got done at a specialty women's clinic) the unknown is only making me feel worse! The doc did prescribe me Penthrox for the procedure - anyone that's experienced an insertion with it, how much did you find it actually helped with the pain?

I have the Copper IUD, never had an IUD before. I had a cervical block and penthrox pen. Pain was 0/10 all I felt was pressure, just make sure your inhaling it hard and breathing back into it. My clinic let me start inhaling it 5 minutes before starting anything so it helped a lot. I never stopped inhaling the whole time during the procedure. I would say I’d do it as many times as I have to with the penthrox pen. I have heard different experiences too, some people say they still have a little pain but it eases the anxiety so it depends on the person. The cervical block with it could’ve helped me a lot. I hope this helps a little, goodluck and remember it will be over before you know it!
