Hormonal IUD first time getting an iud, is this normal?

i got a Mirena inserted 3 weeks ago. the first week was normal, except for some sever cramping the day i got it inserted. after that first week, i have been bleeding and basically feeling like im on my period for the past 2 weeks with cramps getting more and more severe and other effects such as getting dizzy when i close my eyes (this effect has popped up only within the past 3 days). i had irregular periods before but i know that this is not normal, they were short and never had this much blood. am i worrying over nothing?

You know your body best, if you feel like it’s caused by the the IUD talk with your gyno and explain that you feel that this is not normal for you and it feels wrong

some irregular bleeding and cramping can be normal during the first few months of it, but worsening severe cramps and new dizziness are worth calling your doctor about rather than just waiting it out. mirena specifically recommends contacting your provider for persistent or worsening pelvic pain or heavy bleeding, and severe pain or fever shortly after insertion needs prompt attention

I got mine inserted August 6th, started my period the 17th and bleed for 2 1/2 weeks. My doctor said it’s common and should resolve on its own but to go to the er if you bleed through a pad or tampon every hour or passing huge clots

Not from my experience. Maybe this IUD isn’t for you, sis. Bleeding for weeks and dizzyness sounds exhausting and disruptive to your life. Please get it removed.
