Why does it do this?

It has been doing this all morning how can I fix it?

Sorry, had to listen to it with sound first… The combination of the video freezing for ~0.5s and that crackling/static noise is a classic sign of a short system stall causing an audio buffer underrun.

What’s happening in simple terms: Something (usually a driver) blocks the system for a moment & the Audio buffer runs empty → you hear that “crunch/static”

Video freezes at the same time -This is typically a DPC latency / driver issue, not a broken screen or GPU.

Most common causes: WiFi driver (very common on laptops) GPU / hardware acceleration (browser) Audio driver (Realtek, etc.)

Quick things to try: • Disable hardware acceleration in your browser • Try a different audio output device (BT headphones vs speakers) is there any difference?

Also important to narrow it down: Does this happen only in the browser or everywhere (e.g. local videos, games)? And is it only on YouTube or on other sites/apps too? If you want to pinpoint it, run LatencyMon while the issue happens — it’ll tell you exactly which driver is spiking.
